Time doesn't stand still and theyears that have left many traces. At the end of the nineties, I read in the program of the German National Show that Maysoun was going to be entered. I could hardly wait to see him in the ring.

In seiner Jugend gewann er u.a. folgende Titel:
Asil Cup Junioren-Champion
Gesamtsieger der zentralen Hengstkörung
Reserve-Champion der deutschen Nationalschau

There he was! Maysoun was standing next to Frank Spönle like a good boy on his best behaviour. In contrast to the frenzy of the other stallions, he even appeared to be a bit subdued. His age didn't show and he had kept his special, unmistakable presence. Undoubtedly, Frank Spönle is a fantastic handler - yet alongside Maysoun he seemed to be displaced. Even a child could have presented this calm stallion. Maysoun simply didn't belong to a show arena anymore. And I wondered in a rather critical way who on earth had had the idea of once more presenting Maysoun at a show for he had won it all in his younger years! This time he failed to win again. He stood in the second row.
Today I have changed my mind about this show which turned out to be his last competition. In all honesty I could not say that I remember a single champion but I do know that Maysoun was there…!
