Good morning everybody
this is exactly what I mean- a three ring Zoo. These classes are supposed to be "Breeding Classes" in which each entry is judged as "horse".
Yes, I have seen what you said also in Europe and did not like this. If our well known haendlers you mentioned, behave in this fashion, it most certainly is not a guideline for our younger generation. If such hoola hoop is required to win a ribbon or be noticed, it is a darn shame.
We need to differentiate between a breeding class and a circus class or Model class. I assure you, Pete cameron would have excused any entry which did not comply with the rules. So would other renowned judges here. Applaus should be given after a horse is called out to receive a ribbon.
Let us not forget that championships-to tens are given out, and shall we tell all people that those are only acclaimed because of this unorxedoxed behavior/showing? This is exactly why newcommers or our seniors are petrified to own an arabian horse. "what you see, is what you get" is a rule.
It is also against the rules here to assist any entry from behind the ring wall/border and I had thought this would apply to Europe as well.
If we want our shows to become "Circus shows" then let us estabish a class
in the rule book for it. At least then onlookers can understand the willfull upset of horses and not come to the conclusion that they are crazy.
I have many films of the past, in which Arabians were shown and haendled in a meaningfull, dignified manner. Many of these became multiple champions in both halter and performance.I dont even remember one stallion shown at halter, which did not also show up in a performance class, beautifully ridden and well behaved.
I can also not remember that our great trainers such as Tom McNair, Rhita McNair, Stan White, Morris Wingold, Sheyla Varian, Bob Hart Sr and Junior, etc, etc, etc
ever showed and behaved in this fashion. That would have been beneith them.
I know, I can not change the adopted, not in the rulebook system, but I can remind all of you what this will lead to. Therefore, if some complain that they cant "give" their Arab away, you might get the idea why.
Have a nice day
