Dear daniel-eva, When I stopped an took the time to really examine these German Stud farms on the froum and internet that you have pointed out, along with many others showing certain horses of these lines, there is a strong identifiable corilation of how and why these horses are so well structured and beautiful looking. Many of the same horses are used in breeding these horses even from different stud farms but, it is also in the way that they a placed and positioned in the breeding (pedigree). Some of these horses it seems can never be overused because it shows they become more beautiful with each generation as they move forward. As one pointed out it was commended that some treasure these older lines for they seem to be the backbone of what has moved into the light and focus of todays beautiful horses. I guess what I am saying is one should never stop looking or listening to be guided and instructed when and where ever possible regardless of how long they have been had horses. Hello all, This is another horse which I find to be very impressive, not only in his great looks but, in that he is in most of the pedigrees which are found to be desireable by many. daniela-eva, do recall this line being bred to the Ghalion line and if so how this did or would blend. I ask this for several reasons but, one of the reasons I ask is that our latest acquisition is a mare that has Ghalion on the top and Ghazal twice on the bottom. Robert, Echo Hill Arabians

dear robert hope you and your family had nice holidays and how is alaa jabbar doing ? no wonder you like ghazal, he sure was very very special in type and charisma and he was the fullbrother to ansata bint bukra. i never saw him in flesh but i talked to his owner and to several breeers which knew him and i saw some of his offspring. the son i liked most was an egyptian related stallion named shagar, for my opinion he was most expressive, but also with ghazal`s faults, short croup with high sacrum ( is the word right?) and a soft back. to most of his get ghazal passed on his type, a good shaped long neck and good movement, especially in combination with hadban enzahi, he often improved hadban`s shorter neck, but in my opininion this also generated some loss of pigmentation, like madkour I. ghalion strong points sure were his long, well shaped neck, exotic type, a tremendous shoulder and straight legs - he had a similar croup and sacrum to ghazal and didn`t pass on his head as reliable as ghazal did. he also had no problems with pigmentation. so, i think the only points you may have to be careful, is the sacrum and the croup (hanan also had a shorter croup) but type, pigmentation (through hanan and tuhotmos) elegance and movement (hanan and ghalion were very powerful mover) is strongly consolidated in this combination. elf layla walayla should be a good example of the alliance of hanan, ghalion, ghazal, halima and ansata bint bukra. "elf layla walayla" by assad (ansata halim shah x arussa) out of 223 ibn galal 2 (ibn galal 110 x 23 ghalion) here some pics for you. greetings daniela

Hi daniela-eva, Yes, there are faults and they can be seen and it is nice to discuss them for then it shows the way that they were bred to their best advantages to produce better, with keeping the importance of the beautiful parts that have set them apart and made them special, this is what breeding is all about. Another of this great caliber is Madkour 1, he displays so much strength in the body with a wonderful chest but, also keeping that special look that is so apparent in this line of horses

dear robert you are so right about the positive and strong points of a horse and if i got you right - see the weak points and bolster up the good ones. ghazal for example was a stallion many breeder didn`t want, because of his soft back, but a few breeders had the courage to use him (dr.nagel was one of them) because he was such an incredible and beautiful individuum and carefully selected ghazal produced outstanding offspring. the second pic you have send shows "assad I", it is funny, because she is a half sister to elf layla walayla (the mare in my last post). here for you another example for a ghalion, hanan, ansata ibn halima and "tamria" combination, but this time without madkour I. it shows the mare " abbas pasha 1-12" by abbas pasha I (ansata abbas pasha x 2 ghalion) out of 211zohair(zohair x 28 farag) she is now in the UAE. also 28 farag is a three quarter sister to "ibn ghalion"
i wish you, everyone you love and everyone in this forum a healthy, exciting, and happy new year full of love. yours daniela
