Lisa,
I was the one who requested the pictures of Ruminaja Afifa. She is my horse's grandmother and the only picture that I need to complete my 5 generation pedigree. Here's hoping that our request together will help some pictures materialize.
Can anyone out there help us out? Please?

She is my stallion's mother and he would like a picture of her cool.gif

She is also in several of my other horse's pedigrees.

May I see your horse's pic please?

I know someone is hiding a pic of Afifa somewhere!! tongue.gif

Hansi do you know anything about her? What about the rest of the Ruminaja horses?

I have been scouring some old mags and have not found the picture.

By the way Lisa,
I love Shah el Sun. He is such a beautiful guy. When I had seen him at the EE many years ago, he had such a sweet personality.

Lisa,

You own Shah El Sun?!!! I saw him many years ago at the EE and have never forgotten him. I once tracked him down to a man, I believe of Middle Eastern decent, because I wanted to breed to him, but he was not very cooperative about breeding to outside mares, I forget the exact circumstances. I hope that you are still breeding him, although at his age I could understand why you would not. For those who have not seen him, he is one of the finest SE stallions you will ever find. He has an incredibly long well shaped neck that is not often found in SE's. He is truely a gem and should have gotten more mares than he did.

Ruminaja Afifa has produced some lovely offspring. It amazes me that we can't find her.

Wow.... Shah el Sun is one I haven't seen before - what a stallion, and I love that second photo, Flying Hooves!

If I could share something....(apologies in advance if it's off topic)...
I was lucky enough at the age of 15 to get my first Arabian, a purebred mare of Gainey/Naborr ascent. In my early 20's I bred a couple of foals off of her, then had the opportunity at a black Babson/domestic bred mare....I will admit to seeing her color before anything else, and soon realized that's not the direction I wanted to go.

I started noticing horses in the Times/World, usually ending up to be Ali Jamaal get, some times not....then my attention started turning to the SE. Since then, my tastes have gotten more specific yet, and now almost any horse that makes me look twice - whether it be live, online or in the glossies - usually has at least one line to Shaikh Al Badi. I'm still learning why - I can't pinpoint exactly what it is about those horses that are drawing me in, but there's "something" there that I like. It's been interesting for me to see where my tastes have led me the last 10 years, as I become more knowledgeable, meet more people and see more examples of what I like - whether I know the "whys" or not!

I guess partly what I'm saying is, I'm looking forward to any photos that may be shared of Ruminaja Afifa, or any other Shaikh Al Badi horses that are shown here. I'm guessing I'll approve of them! biggrin.gif
