Let's drag ourselves out of the sadness of Scottsdale. Here are a few photos I dug out of this forum. Please share yours! Let's see photos of what "Halter" should, and could be - according to you.

Here's Tom McNair and you-know-who!! No fright, no flight - Morafic looks like he's enjoying the show. Tom looks like he hates that "Get Smart" suit he's wearing, but is putting up with it. Whip is an accessory - not even needed.

How about this one of Aladdinn and Erik Erlandsson - Aladdinn is scared to death, huh? Can you imagine this becoming vogue at the Big Shows - yes, we can!

Attached Image

How about Bey Shah here - I never saw him, but I guess he was one who let you know he was KING!! What this - no whip marks, no flattened ears and no crouching, weaving, glove-fisted clown on the lead?

My favorite for last - this could be me! I would LOVE to see our shows look like this again. The photo was taken at the Asil Cup in 1985 at Dillenburg and Madkour is shown with his then-owner, Erich Hagenlocher.

Well this isn't a good photo, by any means, but this is Sunday Verses first show as a yearling in Music City, TN.

This is after he took the Reserve Championship, on the way out, so stand-up whatever is over..and he looks pretty relaxed to me.. He remains..to this day..a gentle giant at 15.3 hh, easy to stand up and now under saddle in Western Pleasure, which he enjoys!

BTW, I adore this gentle trainer, too!

Love your photos, Ray tongue.gif

How inspiring! These shots all show the relationship between these super-intelligent and proud creatures with their handlers. I've seen the arabians responding so well when they are in Amateur (AAOTH) classes because THESE people love them and respect them. It would be nice if all stand-ups would end with a soft kiss to the muzzle!!!

gbfahne.gif Goudah in the collecting ring with Tracey Holland at the AHS National show Malvern 2008 laugh.gif Now you know why I have let Amr, Goudahs son ,go over to Traceys for a little training and one or two socialising show outings. The horses love her and trust her 100%. Just look how relaxed Goudah is rolleyes.gif practicing his stand up behind Traceys back laugh.gif laugh.gif

My opinion????
This is how stallions ought to be able to be presented.......no clipping, greasing, or hype.........just tent horse gentle.
The stallion is Shalaum a Farazdac son, out of Sittana, and his little buddy........

gbfahne.gif Cathy it's a beautiful photo and says a lot about a trusting horse with an obvious heart of gold.

Here are a few show photos. The chestnut mare, is Mashallah Rashima, a high percentage Egyptian-related mare.
The others are Shamal (near white) and his son, Jamaal (dark grey).

This is what happens to Shamal when he takes 2nd place and then Reserve Champion. A pat on the neck and a great exit from the ring.
Cheryl

I fixed it.
