You're right -- even the Inshass herd book was missing for a very long time, and wasn't published in English until the mid 1970's,. Even this is known to have errors and to be incomplete. The EAO has no way of knowing today exactly what horses belonged to the Royal Family during the pre-registration period, not even all of the horses that belonged to the King.
