Bint Il Bint, CUMBRIA KAISER, and Taliha are Straight Egyptian. Faarina is 96.1% Egyptian and qualifies as Egyptian Bred as her sire is Straight Egyptian. Fareeh is 80.3% Egyptian. That is al I have time to calculate for now. Hope that helps.

I would be facinated to learn how to calculate the percentages, I was told by members here that my gelding is 93.75% egyptian but for the life of me I have no idea how to get to that number!!! I know where the non egyptian blood comes from and I have no doubts I was told the correct information (this is why i came here for advice in the first place!) but I would love to be able to calculate it for myself in the future. is it a complicated matter or would someone be able to explain to us how to do it?

You probably gave up on me, but here is Shah Hannah. She is approximately 59% egyptian. She would not be a horse that I would recommend someone learn how to calculate percentages on as she was extremely difficult. In order to calculate her's, I had to go back 5 generations and calculate the percentage of egyptian blood in 32 ancestors. They were as follows:

Fifth Generation Egyptian blood
BURKAN* 0.345
LATAWICA* 0
MELCHIOR* 0.91
KAZEMA 0.79
ALADDINN* 0
GAAMARA* 0.45
COUNTRY HEIR* 0.24
MIR MAGIC 0.47
MUSCAT* 0.1875
KARHONOVA 0.43
SILVER SCENARIO* 0.37
NADESHKA 0.49
SHAKHS* 1
KATRIONA 0.74
MANOLITO 0.61
RASHINA 0.73
FA-SERR* 1
MAAROUFA* 1
BLACK SAMBO* 1
DIROUFA 1
ALAA EL DIN* 1
ZABIA 1
NEGEM* 1
HABBANA 0.75
GARIBALDI 0.49
ROSE ZEYNAH 0.68
HILLCREST TSALMAR 0.33
BAYKITHA 0.34
AZRAFF* 0.0625
GARAFFA* 0.34
AMIR FARONEK 0.47
ZALTARFA 0.58

The numbers represent the percentage of egyptian blood. 0.34 would be 34 % and 1 would be 100%. If you add these numbers together (18.805) and divide by the number of ancestors in this generation (32) you get 59%. It simplifies the process if you know which root horses are Straight Egyptian as it saves a lot of time researching this. The others were much simpler than Shah Hannah.

Taranstorm, the answer to your question is quite involved. As many horses have more than one designation, you cannot assume this. For instance, many of the Babson horses were also Straight Egyptian or had a significant amount of egyptian blood. Also most of the Crabbet horses were Straight Egyptian or contained egyptian blood.
