Sorry, I'm a bit too blonde this morning. I just realized I wrote in German. Thank you Bart for showing this photos. This was very kind from you.

Believe it or not, Bart, that`s about the only one I have of him too, from our show. He was very like his dam in the head and in the body too I guess, the less angular lines and bigger eyes of Hlayyil come from his dam Haboub, but Amar was a gorgeous mare with an amazingly fine head, the photos ,while nice, don`t do her justice-as you see, Kamar was not photogenic nor is Hlayyil really! Kamar produced -as I already said- lovely typey and athletic stock here from all sorts of different bloodlines, very consistent, and we were very sorry to lose him. He had a tortion and held on while a vet flew in to operate, but died AFTER the operation- everyone was amazed at how long he hung in there-arabians are so brave it breaks your heart when they fight so hard but don`t make it. Hanan is related to Jordan through the Bisharat horses, there were three, Beshir el Ashkar and Mona and the third whose name escapes me, was it Ward, who later went to the Alexandria Police? They were presented to King Farouq from Bisharat Bey (from Jordan) in 1946 and Bilal II traces to them as well. It took Dr Nagel ages to get them accepted in the UK and we had to do a lot of research here and with the Palestine Police (retired obviously) about their stock as that was where these horss came from. Very interesting story, and of course it made me very keen to obtain some of that blood because of the quality of Dr Nagel`s stock and their origins!!! Alia
