I read on another forum that Simeon Sehavi won a championship in Australia. Can someone tell me which show this was at? Was it the East Coast? I would also be interested in hearing other results from the show. Thanks!

Hiya, lovely pics !
I noticed that a lot of the Simeon bred horses are this nice rich chestnut with flaxen, this is my favorite colour but I always thought it is quite rare..... and Simeon seem to have more than their fair share! wink.gif
Does anyone know which horse or line in their breeding programme it is that produces this colour?? Is it Asfour??
Kerstin Anders
What a beauty!!!
Does anyone have the pedigree?

Have a nice and sunny day

Simeon Sehavi is by Asfour out of Simeon Sheba by Ra'adin Royal Star.

I belive it is through the 27 Ibn Galal V If you email me I can give you more details
Merylyn
I believe it is Ibn Galal V. I have a Simeon son here in the UK with excellent breeding.

I just received a (little bit early mellow.gif ) phone call to tell me that Sehavi has just won the title of Australian Champion Filly!!! biggrin.gif
She is the current National Stud Show Champion, East Coast Champion and Aussie Champion - the Australian version of a "Triple Crown".

Here is a photo of her beautiful mother, Simeon Sheba (who was a twice Res. Nat. Stud Show Champion Filly herself).

Congratulations Sehavi!!!! biggrin.gif

Congratulations Sehavi! Does anyone have more Australian Championship results?
HartzArabians
Congratulations Sehavi!!!

Unfortunately I have not heard of any other results as yet. the 2 & 3 yr old colts and fillies were yesterday. The yearling fillies and colts and the senior champion mare and stallions are held today. Hopefully someone on one of Aussie groups will post the winners and i will pass them on!!! I can't wait to hear who the Mare and Stallion Champions are!

Shalom and greetings from Israel,
Regarding your question as to the source of the rare chestnut/flaxen color that shows up so strongly in the Simeon herd....
We also have this in our horses which trace back to the full sister of Simeon's foundation mare 27 Ibn Galal V, who still resides at Babolna.
The chestnut coat often appears almost plum or eggplant color in the winter, and the manes and tails range from almost white to a coppery
blond.
27 Ibn Galal V's full sister is called 202 Ibn Galal and is herself a bay.
I think that the strong chestnut comes through the Ibn Galal line, which in the right combinations, also produces black.
All the best,
Tzviah

Howdy,

Simeon Sehavi is by Asfour (Malik x Hanan by Alas El Din) and out of Simeon Sheba (Raadin Royal Star x 27 Ibn Galal-5 by Ibn Galal). Though not a color/genetics expert by any stretch of the imagination, my guess is the rich chestnut color with the flaxen mane and tail is coming from this fillies mare line via 27 Ibn Galal-5/Ibn Galal/Galal. This would be the most noticeable chestnut 'link' in the Simeon breeding program. She is a lovely filly.

Has anyone here on the board seen the stunning *Simeon Sedek in person? He is in Texas, in Waco I believe. He is also out of Simeon Sheba but is sired by Anaza Bay Shahh (Shaikh Al Badi x Bint Deenaa by *Ansata Ibn Halima). I had heard at one point that he may be presented at the Egyptian Event this year. He looks to be spectacular as well.

It must be the foundation mare 27 Ibn Galal-5, dam of, among others, Simeon Safanad. Maybe someone has pictures of her?

hi all
just got back from the Australian Championships and have to say simeon sehavi is one of the most typiest fillies i have ever seen. it was also great to see her move well and to see that she was handled with great flair and KINDNESS. in the past i have had major issues with the simeon horses beeing terrified of the handler in the ring mad.gif so it was great to see this young man do such a brilliant job and be kind to the horse. cheers jo
Dennis
I am green with envy. ph34r.gif You have seen such a beautiful horse in the flash. I will save every penny to come to Australia one time and see this royal family of horses for myself. The Simeon horses, the Pearsons View horses and so many other beautiful horses from "Down Under". One day... smile.gif
HartzArabians
A friend has just confirmed our visit to Pearsons View in May!!! I can't wait to finally see Stav and his beautiful babies in the flesh!!!

You must come to Australia one day Dennis...... a trip to Simeon is enough to make you consider robbing a bank!!! ph34r.gif
Guess !!!
She also won the Australian National Champion title last weekend unanimously, again perfectly presented by Mr. Philip Looyens !!!

Congrats to my buddy Philip !!!

Sehavi's dam is out of a chestnut 27 Ibn Galal V and Asfour was born a chestnut .

27 Ibn Galal V had white hair through her mane and a dark body colour for a chestnut. And the really vivid chestnut blondes that are bred at Simeon seem to come from the combination of this bloodline with Asfour - his grandsire, Alaa el Din was dark chestnut with white tinges in his mane and tail?? I'm not quite sure how to express this, but here goes... the darker the gene per the family, the greater the possibility of the lighter or perhaps richer/darker the chestnut and light to white mane/tail? It's a pattern that seems to be occuring.

Simeon Sochain (Simeon Sadik (Asfour x Simeon Safanad (27 Ibn Galal V) x Simeon Simona (Asfour x 27 Ibn Galal V)) sired lovely paler chestnut filly with almost white mane from a chestnut mare, who was by a black sire.

Talika Shariah
This filly is not at colour maturity (5yo+), yet - so she could change ie lighten, darken or there again, stay the same!

Hi Everyone,

Simeon Sehavi is my most favourite mare in this whole world. I have had the pleasure of seeing her on a few occasions and i believe that she is the best mare i have seen anywhere. Not only do i think she's 'perfect', i really do love the chestnuts with flazen manes and tails. Im sure Sehavi will oneday be remembered as a dam of distruction, much like Simeon Safanad.

Kind Regards

also has a very nice color. Unfortunately, it doesn't show as well with cloudy skies.

She indeed is a rare beauty, very much like her older 3/4 sister, Sukari (Asfour x 27 Ibn Galal 5). The colour comes from 27 Ibn Galal 5 (imp Hungary), Australia's first Aus Champion mare.
Sehavi is by Asfour (imp) and out of Simeon Sheba (Ra'adin Royal Star (imp USA) out of 27 Ibn Galal 5). Sheba is a 3/4 sister to the world champion Simeon Shai. Sehavi also has a full brother in the US, can't think of his name, it's on the tip of my tongue! Marion has knocked back a lot o money for this filly (4 times what she usually asks for a SE filly).

Think you are thinking of Simeon Sachi! smile.gif He is owned by Al Atiq Arabians. Very pretty colt-looks like he was born somewhat the color of Sehavi, but greyed out smile.gif

Sehavi also has a beautiful older half brother in Victoria Australia Simeon Sandek by S. Sadik out of Sheba (of course) He is also liver chestnut with the flaxen mane and tail and just gogeous and loved by everyone who meets him. he really is a boy version of his grandma 27 ibn Galal V. Saw him again on the weekend he is not just beautiful but is also a really pleasure to be around. Wanted to take him home but don't think his lovely owner barbara would let me wink.gif
Liz
yes remember seeing him advertised in one of the studs & stallions several years a go. Is he still standing at stud?

Hi Liz,
ohmy.gif Gosh - I really should check my spelling and grammer before I hit post - sheesh .... sorry from the person who's fingers are faster then their brain !!

Yes, Sandy is at public stud with Barbara Vogler at Sweet Medows. We have a 5 month old colt by him at the moment, who is kinda cute (even if he is the one to tell everyone about it).

Sehavi was one of the main reasons we went to check him out. Got love that whole family group, they really are a package deal - great legs and bodies, movement to burn, Type - without a question and just really nice horses to work with.

Hi Alison

Well I will have to check him out some day, as I am thinking of breeding my mare not this season but next after she is going better under saddle and has proven herself a bit more. Sandy could be good for her. has he had many foals?

Cheers

Liz
