HI Christine
Fol Yasmeen was in my Quarantine in 1970, imported by Martin Loeber. He was a bout 15,1-15,2 hands tall, very correct, a flying machine and with a sweet dispostion.
A layman could may be not tell that he was not a straight egyptian. Martin did not show him I think, but rode him. I worked with him daily for two months.
He raced in egypt and had eight wins, was bred by ahmad hamza, Hamdan Stables. Martin also at the same time imported his daughter "Ramses Judi" (1968) out of Foze (1959, a very type and correct filly with excellent movement. I really liked this beautiful stallion, he was powerful with an enormous stride.

Interesting.. I searched *Fol Yasmeen and found this site.. after reading some of the discussion I couldn't resist registering so I could comment. I can't put my hand on the copy of his race record from Egypt. I think it is ether in storage with some of my stuff in Canada I live in Australia now or my Ex still has it. I will try to track it down and see if I can post it here
We bought *Fol Yasmeen and owned him at the time of his death. We left him to finish the breeding season with Whites and he died 4 days before we were supposed to pick him up. I wrote the feature article on him in the AHW which ran in the same issue as the one on *Bask. Unfortunately *Fol Yasmeen was grossly disadvantaged because of politics within the industry.
It was sad that a horse of his caliber and bloodlines was not used to his fullest potential. Martin Loeber told the Whites that he would never have parted with the horse if it wasn't for the problems having him accepted by the Pyramid Society. Whites and myself ultimately were the winners in that we had the prividge of owning him which wouldn't have been possible if he hadn't been "blocked" from the Pyramid Society as his price would have been astronomical!
Sarah Loeken, Gene Reichardt, Don and Peggy White and Doug Marshall provided me with a lot of the information I used when I wrote the article for AHW about him. His offspring in Egypt were successful on the track and also as "Dancing horses". His daughter *Ramses Judi was imported in the same shipment as him by Martin Loeber.
We replaced *Fol Yasmeen with Fol Zahraht who was Region 17 Champion Stallion. He had the the straight clean legs, personality and temperament of his sire. He died fairly young as a result of colic with the suspected cause ingesting tent catepillars that had been sprayed. He had a habit of stripping the leaves off the bushes in his pen. Losing him uninsured was a financial blow.. we couldn't accept a lesser quality animal and we couldn't afford to replace him. Losing two such special animals took the joy out of the breeding farm for us and we sold off our other *Fol Yasmeen offspring Champion mare ExL Allouette and Mulit Champion Ex L Sameen.
I didn't mean for this to become a book... but if anyone has any questions I can answer I will be happy to do so... I will check back another time.
