Hi Lisa Marie,
Toota is a daughter of Shahriar (Nasrallah) and has several relatives at Albadeia in Egypt. She is a Hadbah Enzahi and has had offspring by Ameer Alb.
I will look up her offspring later on and more details on her pedigree,
Best wishes, Sven

Dear Lisa,
Sorry for my late response. I was traveling abroad for over a month and was not always able to be online.
Thanks for you Sven, for coming to my help . As always you are well informed .
Toota was a lovely mare born 01.04.69 at the EAO and acquired by Albadeia as a filly. She typified very much her sire (Nasrallah,a.k.a.,Shahriar) in being very elegant, stretchy and powerful mare. She was grey with a long neck that balanced well with her stretchy back ,not so-typey head but quite feminine and pretty. She had another trade of her sire, and that was movement .Her strides were extended covering significant ground . Nasrallah was a crack race horse and many of his offspring and third generations and later were the same.Toota had a wonderful movement ,may not have been too animated(high kicking) but long and graceful.
Toota died in her early twenties after producing 8 fillies and 4 colt to Albadeia.
Out of these, 4 fillies were exported mainly to the USA and 2 colts (to the USA and Germany).
Her dam ,Neamat was a Morafic daughter out of Hemmat from Sid Abouhom.

Hello Nasr and Lisa, I have a beautiful daughter of Toota that we just bred this day to Al Aswad Amir AHR#484503. She has had several foals for us and all have been very nice. We have kept one, a daughter by Ibn El Mareekh. Sabreen is 21 this year and we were not going to breed her back but she loves foals so desided to give it another try. She has been bred to some very good stallions over the years. Shaikh al Badi, Ibn El Mareekh, Halimm and our own Shaikh El Sherif and Thee RasMoniet. All of her foals by these stallion have been very nice. From the Arabian Data Source it says that Toota had her last foal at 26 a bay mare named Nagham Al Molouk born on May 16, 1995 by the stallion Fayzi.
Nasr, would you know anything about the EAO stallion Asfour? Other then what is on the data sourse I have not been able to find out anything. I am getting a daughter of Al Aswad Amir who is out of the EAO imported mare Nashwana AHR#383602 who was by Asfour #440 and out of the EAO mare Nashwa #765. Any information would be helpful. Thanks, Larry

Hi Larry:
Is your farm CinLarMur in New York?
I saw your ad in the Northeast Equine Journal and most recently, in the Pyramid section of Arabian Horse World.
I was quite taken with the photo of Shaikh El Sherif. The head shot that you included with your ad, is a very expressive photo. I am a fan of *Bint Maisa El Saghira.
I live in southern New Jersey. Would be great to meet you someday.

She got some of Sherifs new daughter out of our Sharaf daughter that we are hoping will turn out. Also have a new daughter of Prince Rex (Alidarr son) who is out of our Ali daughter who has Fada for both tail female lines who is the best we have ever had, hoping those pictures come out too. Thanks again, if your ever up near Utica/Rome please stop in. Larry

Larry:
It is great to meet you. As I said, my eyes were drawn to the pictures of your stallions as advertised in the Equine Journal.
Ahhhh....Prince Rex! An Alidaar son out of a Maarena daughter that I just love! I got to meet her before Ivan bought her. Lucky man!!! So much for hesitation!!!! You know that she was the only straight Babson sister of Serr Maariner? DJ sent me a picture of him, which is just lovely. He is a very nice horse too. I am hoping to get up to DJ's sometime. Not sure when, as unfortunately, my father died very suddenly and very much unexpected.

I very much agree with you about Prince Rex. I have had him here at my farm two diffrent times and and used him on some of my mares. I like the horse very much. I also have his only three straight egyptian daughters. One from Beylah our Ali daughter, one from BC Mari Mareekh who is out of Sabreen the mare out of Toota by Amir Albadeia and by Ibn El Mareekh and one from a granddaughter of The Egyptian Prince, Monisa RSI, NaIbn Moniet and Hamama the double Antar granddaughter, her dam is Hayadah who I think was also owned by Ivan at one time. I like all three fillies very much.
Can you tell me anything more about Rex's dam, I was aware that she was a full sister to Serr Maariner and that she was owned by Ivan but that was is it. Thanks, Larry

Larry:
She was a very pretty reddish chestnut mare, so if you believe in the clor theories of color to phenotype, she favored Maarena/Fada rather than Ibn Fa Serr. No more than 15 hands tall, maybe a little smaller and very substantially built. Very powerful body and chest. She had a very expressive face. And her temperament, WOW! She just loved people, she would stand there all day with her head on your shoulder, while you scratched both sides of her neck. I believe she was prettier than her mother and I might even go out on a limb and say that she was stronger in her conformation than Maarena. Some may have faulted her neck being too short. Some may have faulted her and said she was a little too thick but these are the usual complaints that people vocalize about straight Babson horses or even high-percentage Babson horses. Her topline was very strong with no sagginess at all and I liked her hindquarter which was rounder than flatter. She did not have a very high tail carriage but it was not low either. She was one of those mares that you meet and you never forget. She made that strong of an impression on me.

Dear Lar,
Sabreen Albadeia was my favorite daughter of Toota. I am very happy to know that you are pleased with her and that she is still giving you nice foals . It will be great if you can email me some ophotos of her . Have not seen her in ages -almost 20 years and very eager to see how she turned out to be. Thanks for writing .
Here what I found about Asfour .
-DOB: March 1961 and died 1987
- Sire : Elsareei and the dam is Ghandoura El Saghira
-the mare, Nashwan was born 24.04.83 out of Asfour and Nashwa
- Asfour had sired 10 foals at the EAO and only one mare remains , Aishq(Aishk) out of Gelan ( Jilan).
Asfour was not used extensively as you can see and personally ,I do no not remember him enough to comment on his quality . I was hoping to be more helpful. If I get any further info,I will pass it on to yoiu.

Dear Christian,
I am sorry to tell you that we have no photos of Hosna as well as most of our old foundation mares. It is such a waste that no one has attempted to keep a photo record for all these horses . At that time I was quite young and not involved with the breeding at Albadeia. I was actively involved in riding, however .My father was too busy in his political career and photography was not one of his hobbies.
I wish it was different .I myself, many times wonder how this horse looked like and would wish I could have photos too refer back to

Hello,
My parents owned a son of Toota's, Bisheer. They purchased him from Willis and Jimmy Flick. He was tall, strong bodied stallion with a very kind personality. He was a champion English and Western horse. Sadly, he foundered in the early 1980s. My parents puchased him after he foundered. They were unable to ride him, but he did sire some exceptional foals.
I currently ride a mare sired by Bisheer. She has been a champion hunter pleasure horse. Many of his foals have made great show horses, but most notable is their easy-going temperment. We were lucky to have Bisheer with us until he had to be put down in 1990.

Hello Nasr, Sven, Larry & Ralph & anyone else that we may have missed,
So sorry for our late response, life ,work & the horses have kept us quite busy. Very happy to here all the details about Toota. We were inquiring about her due to a friend being interested in her Daughter Sabreen, whom Larry from CinLarMur Arabians owns. Our friend waited a bit to long to call Larry about Sabreen ( we'll never let her live it down ). However we are very happy to report that she sold to another aquaintance & fellow Straight breeder that lives close to us. Congrat's Debbie if you read this, what a gem you now have! We want to thank you Larry for your, & your wifes', gracious hospitality when we came for a visit and saw all of your beautiful stock.
It was truely a treat and a suprise to here from you Nasr, someone as renouned as yourself responding to our humble question. I guess we really got the ball rolling so to speak!
Well thanks again to all for the information and insight on a subject which we certainly can never learn enough about or tire of talking about!
Thanks again to all. Sincerely "Lisa Marie" and mom...Pat G.

Dear Ralph,
So sorry to here of your fathers passing.
When we visited Larry last winter we also visited D.J. and saw Prince Rex. We were very impressed! He is everything that you would expect him to be and more. We are considering him for our mares in the future.
We only breed two mares a year right now because I won't produce any more than I am prepared to keep If I don't sell them.
My first priority is to do right by the horses. We have 14 on the farm now and have two bred for next year to a Ruminaja Ali son who is owned by our dear friends in Townsend Ma.
Well gotta go. Thanks for the education. Keep talking...... Pat G.

I am not being humble ,. I am just enjoying being a part of information and experiance exchanges with lovely people who share with me the love of our Egyptian treasures . I will never miss an opportunity to indulge in a constructive and informative thread .
I thank you for your comments and for the info on Sabreen .
Thanks Ralph for your expertise and thanks Nutkin for informing me about Basheer. The Toota line (actually her sire’s line) are all known for their agility and atheliticabilit

Hello All,
Kevin and I did buy Sabreen and we are so pleased to have her. She certainly represents an undeniable opportunity to keep this lovely line going. She is a sweet old girl, much like her mother as I have heard described.
We have featured Amir Al Badeia, for all is glory, as a reference sire on our website for Trinity Egyptian Bloodstock through equiwebs.
Hopefully she is in foal to Amir Al Aswad. He is a true blue black which much to offer particualrly in the head and Sabreen has such wonderful confirmation though her head could be nicer. Perhaps this will prove to have been a pivotal cross for us.
Thank you for the kind remarks about our Sabreen.

Hello Nasr,
As you may know I have since acquired Sabreen from CinLarMur. What a lovely matron she is. I will be happy to post some photos soon. You know how we are...always looking for that perfect shot. I enjoy hearing about the background of these wonderful horses. When I think of all the experiences Sabreen must have had ! I'm just happy to have her now...

Dear Nasr,
It has occurred to me that you may have a photo of Sabreen when she younger, Even now at her advanced age, it is easy see the jewel she was. Her conformation tells the tale of a broodmare, but her eyes remain so soft and kind. I would be pleased to see any photos you may have of her in the "glory days"
Thank you kindly, Debbie

Dear Debbie, and all who may be lurking!
Greetings and salutations from Pat G. at Point-O-View...child, do you truly realize exactly what you have? If I had the room that mare would be in my pasture, not yours! She is a rare and precious gem to be treasured and protected. I saw her myself on a miserable winter day last Feb. in all her fuzzy glory and It was obvious to me what a beauty she STILL IS. Her back is still strong after all those babies, as is mine even after birthing my NINE two footed beasties! And those eyes...oh my God! Her head might not be what you would call the most "exotc" but none the less is still beautiful. She exudes the epitome of the "old desert type". DESPITE TODAYS FADS AND NUANCES I personally believe that the old lines MUST be valued and preserved. The stalion that she is hopefully bred to should be a very interesting cross. Pardon my candor, but in all my 52 years on this earth I think I've earned the right to speak my opionated mind. If she were mine I would only breed here to the best of the oldest of the old. To see the names that you see in her lines so close it would be a shame to dilute that with something other than a boy who is equally worthy of the same distinctinction.
We have to get together for more coffee and donuts soon and not wait till next years Hudson Valley Show. Are you by any chance going to Judy's conference next month? Lisa, Dawn and I are going (we can never learn enough) and would love to make it a foresome! You know where I am . Send me a line. L.O.L. Pat

Well, it's been a long time since we started this forum, looking for info on Toota, the dam of a mare I was looking into buying. Since then, someone else was going to buy her, so I thought I lost her, but things worked out for me, and now I am truly very lucky to have Sabreen(Albadeia) on my farm, as well as her magnificent colt by an Ibn Kaisoon son. Still, I would love any info on her background and lineage. I really love the old blood the best, but it is very hard to find any info or pictures to reference. It's even harder to meet or speak to anyone who has owned, seen, or bred these horses! As always, any info would be so greatly appreciated. Thanks, Dawn@ Star Bright Farm

I have been looking for pictures of Hosna and Rida for years, but with no result. I own a greatgreatgranddaughter of Hosna: Halwa B (El Thay Mameluk x 247 Rajan, out of 227 Ibn Galal I out of 202 Ibn Galal, out of Hosna). I'd be very interested to have pictures of her ancestors.

Ahh!!!! At long last, a picture of Toota has appeared in my mailbox! An enormous thank you to DJ Sheldon of Rapture Arabians in New York. I can't tell you how surprised and excited I was to open that envelope and find a picture of Sabreen's dam. As soon as I can get my friend to post some pictures for me, (my computer is still crashed) I will put both Toota's and Sabreen's colt's picture on. Thanks again to anyone who can help me find pictures, etc... of any of Sabreen's ancestors. It will be especially helpful in narrowing down who I will breed her to next. I would also love to contact anyone who might have any of her progeny or their offspring. Dawn @ Star Bright Farm
