I am trying to trace the real name of my mare and in order to do so, I need to cross the following mares off my list of possibles.
They are all 1998 chestnuts and some are Egyptian, some not. Could anyone who knows anything about these mares please let me know so I can reduce my list.

Very observant Paivi! I think it looks alot like her too, the socks match up but the pics are on different sides so i cant say if the face markings do or not.

If it's indeed Tamborina De F, you might want to check out with Emma Maxwell : her parents owned the sire, and maybe thet have the breeder on record.

Thank you all, she really does look the same as Tomborina. I have just stood and held the picture up and I think it might be her!!!!!!!!
I have tried phoning the breeder but he is out for the day so I e-mailed him, the AHS told me she is registered to someone in Derbyshire but they are not allowed to tell me anymore. I am now looking for Emma Maxwells details...

Tomborina de F would be bred by Gerald Watson in Surrey, at a guess by Borneo ex Tomina who is either by Procyon or Don Diego, I can't remember which. If you email me on emmmxll@hotmail.com I can give you Gerald's number and you can check with him. Emma

I managed to find Geralds number on the spanish arabians web site but he is out for the day, I also sent him an e-mail and photos of Pixie.
I am not so sure now though because Tomborina looks like she has a white left nostril and my Pixie has a white right nostril. Some people say that the white blazes shrink as they get older?
Pixie does have the short back and thick thighs though.
Probably just wishful thinking but I will soon find out when Gerald Watson gets in touch.
By the way, spot on with the breeding Borneo/Tomina and Borneo is by Don Diego!

I just had a look at the pictures too, and I hate to be the bringer of bad news but I don't think Tomborina is your filly. :-( The markings on the hind leg appear to be similar but they are on different legs. The near hind is the one with the mountain peak looking marking (the one with the tail over it) and the other (off hind) is the one where the marking rises steeply up to a point at the front of the hind leg (plus the hoof is turned clockwise slightly). Your filly looks to be the opposite. What a shame 'cause they look pretty close. :-(
The picture almost gives an optical illusion that the legs could be the other way around.

Still, I have e-mailed the breeder so I am sure he will let me know.

Did you find your mare? I wanted to mention that I have seen older pictures of what was suppose to be the same mare with markings reversed, as you mention here. That was before digital cameras, so perhaps the negatives were developed backwards. Does anyone reading this know for sure whether or not this is possible?
