There's a nice picture of Belbowrie Obsidian in the Sharjah&Ajman feature, but no pedigree information.
Does anyone know anything about him? He looks quite handsome.

Belbowrie Obsidian is a black stallion foaled in 1996. He is sired by the Imperial Maakir (*Imperial Madheen x Imperial Na Fatia by Moniet El Nafis). Imperial Na Fatia is out of a Serenity mare that Hansi bred by *SF Ibn Nazeer out of the Mashhour daughter, *SF Bint Mamlouka. The dam of Belbowrie Obsidian is a daughter of The Minstril out of Belbowrie Fayeka, by the Nazeer son *Ramses Fayek and out of the EAO bred mare, *Anhar. *Anhar is a Sid Abouhom and Gassir grand daughter.

Belbowrie Obsidian's sire and dam both trace in direct tail female lines to the great Crabbet Park matron Rodania via the RAS brood mare, Bint Riyala.

Belbowrie Obsidian is also the full brother to the foundation mare of our straight Egyptian breeding program here at SGA Arabians in Australia. PRINCESS OF THE NILE (IMPERIAL MAAKIR* ex THE NILE ROSE*) (I'll attach a picture of her to this post)

Princess is grey rather than black like her sibling and is an elegant tall mare 15.1 hands with a huge body and strong hindquarter and geat legs and feet.

She has produced 2 foals for us to date - the first a colt sired by a son of AK Sirhalima* named Tarong Shahgar (who is out of a Kaisoon daughter Shareefa*).

And this season a very welcome filly sired by a stallion we have on lease here named AH RAMSES who is a son of Imperial Studs IBN SAFINAZ. So a timely infusion of more IMPERIAL influence into our stock.

Thanks Karen - for the welcome and the comments regarding my girl.

She's not perfect - but she has what I wanted in a foundation mare - a great body and strong hindquarter - good legs and plenty of size. I liked her sire a lot and her dam is a real quality item and was the decidng factor in buying this mare. And I cannot complain about either of the youngsters she has had for me so far (except that the first was a colt sired by Tarong Shahgar (AK Sirhalima x Shareefa by Kaisoon) rather than a FILLY! lol)

BTW I was looking for the article Paivi referred to initially with the pictures of Obsidian and couldn't locate it - are you able to assist at all please?
