Our very unique black, sabino/rabicano SE/SO/AK stallion, Aswad Shahwan BWA, is arriving in his new home country today. He will be joining his black younger brother, Zaraq, who arrived earlier in the year, and soon his black rabicano younger sister will be joining them by Christmas. I think it is just wonderful that so many from this breeding group will be kept together and their blood perpetuated on another continent. They are all from the Brandywine (BWA) breeding program tongue.gif

When the new owner has her web site up and running, I will post the link here!

Thank you Clementine, I no longer own Aswad, as I sold him to the buyer in France laugh.gif Aswad is a very lucky boy and his new owner is very happy to have him. Actually, I think his semen will be available for International use. He was very 'potent' as a breeding sire for me, via live cover and I expect that he will be just as potent for AI, but that will be determined after he has some time to aclimate and then make his trip to the collection facility. This family of stallions from Brandywine Arabians are extremely potent, so the chances are very high, I am sure! wink.gif

Clothilde, is your stallion available for breeding via frozen semen? If so, how were his numbers? I am sure that there are plenty of mares in Europe that would like to breed to your bloodlines too? wub.gif

I visited your site, but did not see an option for English. gbfahne.gif

Hi Pam,
Thank you! Actually, his new owner is in France. I am now the previous owner wub.gif

Aswad was in my life for 6 years and there is no other like him that I ever met. What a character with so much personality!!

BTW, I read your introduction letter in the AK III book, and you are an excellent writer!! I really enjoyed it, very much. Thank you for your dedication to the Al Khamsa Arabian. I have owned many different blends of Arabian bloodlines, but the AK's are indeed different.

They are so very special, and yours are very fortunate to have had you in charge of their lives.

Dear Heirloom,

Now I know who taughed him this trick!!! rolleyes.gif

He is quite fast on his back legs when passing by a mare...what a little devil.

he is in fact so much more precious than on the photos (not to say Gayle is not a good photographer...nonono...) but somehow, his true delicate beauty doesn't reflect.

I was so appalled by so much perfection and power in such a little body that I bursted into cries when he unloaded the truck...

and when I got to know him a bit better and discover his personnality, I was really happy Gayle accepted to let go this incredible stallion.

I hope the european, middle eastern and australian breeders will size this opportunity of adding such qualities to their program.

Do you have more photos of the devil when he was young? Were you his previous owner or his trainer?

Thanks a lot for the photos, Heirloom... rolleyes.gif

frankly, although it looks like a fairy tale picture, Aswad looks exactly like this:

Hi Laurence, I can answer that question smile.gif

Aswad was boarded with Mike for several months after I purchased him from Stephanie, so Mike did not own him, but he did teach him that 'trick'. I think the facility will find it useful for breeding or collection also ph34r.gif

I am so happy that you find him so perfect Laurence. That photo of Aswad was taken when he was only 2 years old.

It is very hard to capture him on film. The photo you shared is one of Stephanie's favorite ones! And this one also.

I like this one very much.

I just wish that the camera I took them with had been a better one.
