Hello Nicole,

Mike Wilson , from Florida, who posts here regularly is the breeder and owner of Stival, I'm sure he'll be very happy to post information about his very special horse .

Stival is absolutely gorgeous, his new video is amazing and he's owned by truly loving and dedicated people , he's certainly one of the very very best sons of Gazal al Shaqab. I'm sure his foals will be spectacular !

You can see some Stival shots on the website of Wilson Training Center in FL.

Hope it helps !

Nicole,

I first noticed Stival in his yearling sweepstakes class at Nationals a couple years ago - will never forget the GORGEOUS head and unbelievably beautiful, arched neck. I saw him again at Scottsdale - and again, he took my breath away. I think I bought the last breeding before they closed his book this year at Nationals. I'm breeding my Padrons Psyche daughter (out of an El Hilal daughter) to him in early 09, and I can hardly wait!

Mike W. can certainly tell you about him, but I can tell you what I like about the colt is his extreme type, lovely movement, and his pedigree is just stellar, as he is by *Gazal and out of a beautiful champion Soho Carol daughter. I think Stival is really one to watch.

Best regards,

I agree. Stival is one of the most promising Gazal sons out there. I too saw him in Scottsdale and marked a star by his name as one to watch. I will wait to see some progeny on the ground - as that helps me in selecting an appopriate mare - and then will contemplate a breeding.

I met his owners and they struck me as wonderful people who only want the best for their boy so between them and Mike Wilson they form a team that should be great to deal with.

Cheers!

Hi Bérengère,
Is the video you mentioned on the internet for the public to see? I've seen the photos of him on both websites, he looks like a stunning colt ..would love to see more of him!
monethorse
Stival is even more beautiful than his pictures!!! He has a neck like no other colt or stallion we have seen and his overall type is unreal!! We liked him so much that we bought the full sister to his dam for our breeding program. We are all looking forward in seeing the first Stival baby :0) We keep our horses with his owners.
Solita
I LOVE the photos of Stival and after just watching his video I am blown away by this stallion!

Thanks for posting your photo links, Amy. Some great pics in there and it's really nice to be able to see Stival from so many different angles.

I'm thrilled to hear that Stival will be shown at Aachen and in Paris! I hope he doesn't go to Europe until his breeding commitments are finished here in the states this spring/summer though. biggrin.gif

He is very stunning.. what a neck! I am eagerly waiting to see the video of him if somebody could advise me where on the internet it may be? Did someone mention that he is not avaliable to Europe at the moment? Because on Johanna Ullström's site it does say he is avaliable next year to a select amount of mares. So I am trying to find out more info with not a lot of luck as of yet sad.gif
Liz Salmon
He's a very promising colt indeed. I have seen him up close a couple of times. Knowing Mike and Peri, he will also be under saddle too as they showed the other stallion Bugatti to a Top Ten in both Halter and Performance at the last US Nationals—something which so many trainers say can't be done, which is nonsense IMO.

Goodness! Those are beautiful photos of Stival - did you take them? If so, you are GOOD!

For those who want to see Stival's video - Stival Video. It's a rather large file, but well worth viewing. smile.gif

I'm really glad Mike and Peri are giving Stival a chance in the European show scene, where I would think he would do VERY well, and Aachen and Paris both happen later in the year, so I'm guessing he will finish out his breeding duties here in the States before heading to Europe. smile.gif

Thank you Nancy, yes I did take the photos of Stival. My lens just kept coming back to him…LOL!
Such a gorgeous colt and I think he will look amazing (just as Bugatti does) under saddle if they choose to go performance with him in the future.

What about Stival's first foals?
Any pix out now?

Would love to see his offspring;)
I dont get this stallion out of my mind. I hope to bred one day one of my mares to him!

I have seen a photo of the first Stival foal, a filly, and she is gorgeous! I believe you will be seeing this filly's picture in future advertisements.

Allison of Talaria
Mike Wilson very kindly sent me a photo of Stival's first filly.

She is absolutely beautiful--with a wonderful neck and gorgeous face. (Big eye, tiny muzzle, huge nostrils, and very refined.)

I think Stival is a young stallion everyone should be watching...especially since he is, of course, from the great Saglawi I sire line--which has been such a prepotent sire line over the last thirty years (from Shaikh al Badi through Marwan).

Mike Wilson has handled the Talaria halter horses for several years now, and in that time Curt and I have come to appreciate that this young man's heart really lies more in breeding than in the halter arena--and he has a fine understanding of blood lines from Polish through Egyptian (including Spanish and our domestic horses). In addition, he has a a great eye for beautiful horses. The fact that Mike bred this colt is extra validation as far as we at Talaria Farms are concerned. We are hoping to have some Stival foals out of Talaria mares in the near future.

Keep your eyes on Stival!! cool.gif

Stival is definitely something special. I love his dam. She has such a strong athletic presence, more like a stallion. Someone repeat a cross like that!

When I spoke with Peri today, is that her name, anyway she said that he was going to Vegas and that either Gallun or Mike would show him and she wasn't sure about Paris as yet.
MWilson
Hi all!

Thank-you for your kind words about Stival!

Peri and I have been overwhelmed with the support we have received from breeders and his fans world wide. This support means more to us then could be expressed and we are honored with this response to him.

Stival will be in Vegas and we would appreciate the continued support there in a few weeks!

Below is a picture of his first foal, a filly bred by Markelle Araians LLC. She is out of a Kouvay Bey daughter who is out of a maternal half sister to RGA Kouress. This filly is truely special and gives us much to be excited about as the balance of his 2009 foals are born!

See you in Vegas!

Mike & Peri

It was an error that the British anthem was played blink.gif , we were puzzled by it and asked Frank and he said he is still owned by USA! Congrats to all concerned.

Many congratulations on his win. He's a lovely stallion and one that I consider could win anywhere in the world. I'm so pleased for Peri and Mike.

Hi,
I am unable to view these pictures from this link, are they no longer on the internet now? smile.gif

I have looked and seen a few foals on Stival's website, does anyone know of any other sites or studs which have had quite a few by him? As i'd love to see a few more.
How is he doing as a sire in his first crops from peoples point of views who have seen his offspring, are they displaying the same beautiful champion qualities as himself?
Thanks in advance
Mic

I saw Stival in Aachen and he is AWESOME! This was the horse who really impressed me. I might have some pictures of him. Will check.

Hi Mic! Stival is quite young - only 3 years old now! So please be patient until next year wink.gif
