Dear fourum members

would like to get some information of Om el Bendigo (I know he is owned by Mrs Otto, had a gold medal at stallion licence, webpage of Mrs Ott I know

I have seen strong inbreeding products on Om el Arab Germany and my personal meaning was that they had lost body and conformation, elasticity of the gaits and the wonderfull huge "spanish eye". From the face they looked great.

From pedigree I have seen Om el Bendigo is inbreeded from male and femaile line on El Shaklan 2x and 3x on Estopa (1 x male/2 x femaile)

Do you know his offspring? Some pics maybe? With witch bloodline he breeded best? His character his rideability?

About inbreeding on El Shaklan, what do you know about?

Any information is wellcome

thank you for your help

Thank you for any information
Gari
I can only speak to inbreeding of the blood: The El Shaklan/Estopa-have seen it inbred and line bred very closely and have been tremendously impressed with the results and quality of the babies. Would suggest you look at the horses bred at Om El Arab in Santa Ynez and the way they have pursued inbreeding and outcrossing. It is fascinating and have always been hugely impressed with the California program. The horses just get better and better every year. My guess is Om El Bendigo is pretty impressive in the flesh. I love his dam whom I've seen on a number of occasions as well as sire, grandsires, etc. All simply tremendous individuals. Obviously I am very prejudiced as my own stallion is double El Shaklan and his babies are beyond my happiest imaginings and pure magic.

When I first saw Om El bendigo I loved his tremendous show attitude, as well as his body.
I may be wrong but I think he scored the highest points in the Junior Male classes at Paris?

I now own two of his full sister's progeny!

Om El Bahreyn, a 4 year old colt by CG Balih El Jamaal and Om El Belusena Dream a 3 year old filly by Dreamcatcher, both out of Om El Benedict.
Both are tall, pretty and have great bodies, best of all they carry on that family's charisma and movement, although last year Belusena felt braver at home and preferred to show off there rather than in the ring.

Hallo,
you can see pictures from Bendigo's offspring on Dr. Otto's homepage
www. bo-arabians.de , under www.ghamal-al-amar-de and under arabian-furuity-europe.com(Promotion)+ Om el Bendigo..
Perignon is at this time in the Frank Spönle trainingcenter, for the show- season 2004.

Hello El Acrisi and everybody else,

I have some information about Om El Bendigo and his offspring to add, also most of it has already been mentioned here.
I know him and some of his offspring personally and have worked with them, so I can tell you all of them have a wonderful
temperament - they are easy to work with, eager and willing to learn and trying to please the people who work with them.
On the other hand they are still "showy" if required, all with tremendous movement and presence. Bendigo is ridden regularly
nearly every day and trained in classical dressage and doing very well here.

As already mentioned one of his sons, Perignon Al Amar is at Frank Spönle to be presented during this show season.
He was presented at the stallion presentation in the beginning on January some some people might remember him.
As he is a late foal (he was only born in June 2001) he will only go to a few shows to not stress him too much but give
him the chance to get used to it a bit. Concerning his breeding he is out of Pomposa who is by FS Bengali out of Parforce
(Nahbay x Padua). Therefore he is a full brother to Promotion who is featured in the Arabian Futurity Auction. While Perignon
looks more like Bendigo, Promotions resembles more his maternal great-grandsire Kubinec. You can find a picture of
Pomposa on www.ghamal-al-amar.de.

Two more foals of Bendigo are with Wagner Arabians in Hauptmannsgrün, Germany. I don't have any photos at hand
but they are out of golden cross mares. Two breeders from Italy and France also have offspring by Bendigo from last year.

I have attached a photo of Perignon which was taken last summer. If you would like to have any more information,
pictures or a video of Bendigo and/or his offspring (we have some new, actual footage available) you can contact
me or Dr. Birgit Otto directly.

I hope I could help you a bit and give you some helpful information.
Best regards,
Bea

We had the first opportunity to double breed to El Shaklan, and he was one of tonly wo stallions where we did breed sibling to sibling. On the whole we refrained from such close breeding as much from temperament as conformation, and it is notable that the two stallions we did inbreed to, Shaklan and his son Maleik el Kheil had pretty flawless temperaments. The results in the early eighties from Maleik el Kheil on the Shaklan daughters Indian Spring, Khamala, and Bint Nyala - and Barbara Campbell's Crysilla, produced some very successful horses, Verinag, Spirit of Spring, Khashil, Nazdrowie and El Saleem. However as an overall policy we did not continue as we felt it was not producing the necks and front legs we wanted. We made one more double cross, when Maleik was sold, we decided to cover Atlantica with him, and his last UK foal Ayat was the best result we had from the cross.

We have line bred further with Ayat to Om el Extreem and are very pleased with result. Important to remember that there are other elements in this pedigree - Camargue, the Kazra family and Indian silver, all English bred horses with a positive influence on necks and front legs. We also bred the double Maleik el Kheil mare Medallela who is still in France with my parents.
