I have heard that there are different families in the KUHAYLAN strains, like ajuz, haifi, krush, etc...
Which one are still important in SE breeding?
Could you tell me the most important differences between these different families?
Thanks

Clo

Good morning deqr Clo

I just got back from an exhausting 2700 mile trip trying to catch up a bit.

the Kuhaylan Mimri strain is extinct in the Se's.
Basically what is utilized here are the Kuhaylan Rodanias,Kuhaylan Jelabias and the Kuhaylan Kurush. In the Asils, other than the Se's
other Kuhaylan strains are utilized, as Diana pointed out numerous examples.

We here at Serenity had overwhelming success with the Kuhaylan Rodanias, being so extremely athletic and so arabian. Crossed with the Hadban Enzahis and a bit of Saqlawi, type, elegance and extreme movement has been maintained.

The Kuhaylan Rodanias I have seen, and or bred, have beautiful substance, excellent conformation, especially in the leg department,
and some are even quite elegant. Their strides are enormous.

I think one needs to look at the horse and decide to either improve on substance or refinement or whatever. One cant just only go by a strain.

Have a nice day

I would definantly agree with this, and the comment that you can't breed by strain only, of course unless there is a strain that is darn near extinct and need preserving....

The above mare is pure in the strain Kuhaylan Dajani. However she is not a SE.

have a similar situation to Amanda,

Skye is a Krush but not SE wink.gif

There is also the Kuhaylan with NO substrain (and darn near extinct. They meet the criterion of movement, I sure like what I see on both sides of the family, and they are SE.

I don't believe there are too many Kuhaylan of any substrain that meet the Raswan definition to a "T" but I am trying to increase the blood in my horses and it will be interesting to see the results. I have a pretty good idea what that result will be because Hansi started by importing Serenity Bint Nadia, the foundation mare to my program, and everyone knows, if it is Serenity - it means performance!

Hello everybody!

Thanks for your answers.
I would like to know if there is someone who have kuhaylan krush horses in their breeding program?
Maybe there are not a lot, I don't know?

If someone has pics of this substrains, thanks to share.

have a nice day.

Gosh Samantha, this is a georgeous foal. who is it?
Looks to me like a winner.

Yes the SerenityBinNadia line has produced excellently.
She only had 3 daughters and one son. The son Serenity Osiris was a halter champion, and absolutely fabulous under saddle. I jumped with him 5feet combinations, he was extremely fast, stood 15,3 hands tall with an immense girth. His sister Serenity Kamila was already a halter champion at age 6 months. Of course, we continued the Hadban Enzahi line up todate through our Sf BintOsiris, who's sire S.Osiris is,and this Kuhaylan/Hadban combination produced tall, elegant, type and extremely athletic individuals, many became champions, race winners, endurance winners, halter champions etc. I was told by D Barbary,Egypt, that SerenitBintNadia won jumping events in Egypt, and apparently her son enherited this ability.

I am so glad you also continue preserving this line.

Have a nice day

If you are looking for some Kuhaylah Kurush blood they try some of the Safinaz bloodlines as in Anas by Alaa El Din in Egypt or his son *Shemees in Florida and Ibn Safinaz by Seef located at Imperial in Maryland.

Appriciate your research concerning Kuhaylan horses.

Saw where Prince Fa Moniet traces in tail female to this line. *Maaroufa was the imported mare that influences his linage.

So many good horses decend from her. Fadl is a full brother to her. So it's evident that this influence is very important to Se breeding today.

Thanks so much for the information. So many horses have decended from good Kuhaylan sources. It's great to see the horses get their due credit.

Care must be taken to breed a horse not just by the look or pedigree, but to refer to all aspects before making a breeding selection.
It's great to see good rsults from a lot of though into the proper breeding decision.
Thanks,
Dale W
