Sasha Melia/Silhouette Arabians
Hi

I wondered if anyone could offer me their ideas on which SE bloodlines they feel 'nicks' the best with Ruminaja Ali and Morafic bloodlines?

I would be really interested to hear any opinions.

Thanks

Sasha,
I think Ansata horses are great crosses. They created a successful foundation of using
using heavily Nazeer lines.

Yes indeed Ansata have had some very succesful crosses using Ruminaja Ali lines. His bloodlines seem to suit a lot of different mares though anyway as he was so versatile!

Jim Bergren told me that the Egyptian Prince daughters were the very best nick with Ali. I bred two mares to Ali and the Prince daughter produced the most spectacular one, though the Melouki daughter also produced a very nice mare. A shame Ali died before I could breed my beautiful Ibn Morafic daughter to him, I am certain that would have been the best of all. But then, this mare has never produced less than any stallion's best!
Sasha Melia/Silhouette Arabians
Hi All

Thanks for your thoughts. I have bred one foal from my mare so far and he was by Ansata El Salaam. Definitely will follow these lines again in the future!

Patricia, funny you should mention Ibn Morafic, as my mare is a Ruminaja Ali grand-daughter (she is by MA Alishah) out of an Ibn Morafic daughter. Someone once said to me that she really reminded them of Morafic - I think she has 5 crosses in 5 generations to Morafic (and 10 x Nazeer). Is that quite a lot?

Sundar Alisayyah (Ruminaja Ali x Imperial Sayyah) crossed with Ansata Halim Shah produced the most exciting Egyptian stallion of our time, Al Aadeed Al Shaqab. smile.gif

Imperial Al Kamar bred to Ali daughters has produced many nice results.

Hi Ralph

Al Adeed is my all time favourite stallion! I am based in England though so the choice of SE stallions is not great unless you use AI which I have not gone into yet! Would rather use natural unless there is absolutey no choice. I have a SE stallion sorted out for my mare for this year, but I wanted to find out what might be a good option to go for next year. Her first foal by A. El Salaam seemed to work extemely well although I haven't seen him since he was about 9 months old so I have no idea how he has turned out now he is 2 years old which is real a shame.

Ansata Halim Shah x Ruminaja Ali or Alidaar blood works well and is a big succes for us here at Al Rayyan Stud.

One of those fantastic combinations might be seen this year at the Egyptian Event in Lexington! Might, I say - not sure yet.

All the best, Bart.
Sasha Melia/Silhouette Arabians
Hi Bart

Do you find it is a successful cross with Ansata Halim Shah lines in general in your experience or is it mainly a success for you via one particular Ansata Halim Shah stallion?

Hi Sasha!

You have good taste! biggrin.gif

Have a look at Emiratus B, the son of El Thay Mameluk. He is an awfully nice looking horse. He is owned by Sabine Von Elm of Vollblutarabergestut Von Elm and is standing with the Jones family, in your country.

Hi Ralph

He does look lovely. I have not seen him in the flesh unfortunately though but I have seen photos of some his stock that also look very nice! Don't know if Emiratus will still be here next year.... I am sending my mare to a young SE Farres son this year though who has just entered the UK which may be an interesting cross.

Hi!
Absolutely this is, what I want to try this year, I will breed my Ansat Halim Shah-Granddaughter Shanah Halim to the Ruminaja Ali-Grandson Pyramid Aalin, and I´m sure, that this will be work very well together. Let´s hope so!

By the way, but what has Emiratus B in common with Ruminaja Ali/Ansata-Lines ? huh.gif
Ralph
Just a friendly suggestion Tashwaj...I like the horse a lot. biggrin.gif

Ha, Ralph - count me in! smile.gif He is gorgeous.

Hello forum,

to get back to the topic:

If I search through SE.com and different magazines I get the impression that Rum. Ali is a real allrounder. He nicks well with a variety of different bloodlines and the only traits he sometimes seems to pass on to his get that I personally don't like so much are white hooves and facial marks.
What I like most about his descendants is that I believe to having observed that they display longer nicely shaped necks, smoother, more elegant bodies and pronounced dishes.

There are a lot of breeders here in Germany thinking about incorporating his (or Alidaars) blood in their breeding programs (or alternative "Morafic"-sources via The Egyptian Prince/Ibn Moniet El Nefous) - many already did. It's a quiet but nevertheless very successful revolution that compensates some of the problems of a heavy Ansata or Hadban Enzahi/Ghazal influence.

IJust my view biggrin.gif

Like Ali Zaar who was just exported to Germany?
Sasha Melia/Silhouette Arabians
Hi Tashwai

I think Ralph was suggesting Emiratus to me as he is a good stallion based in the UK and I was saying earlier that are not many SE stallions in England to choose from...... smile.gif
Sasha Melia/Silhouette Arabians
Hi Dr Wigger

I am very interested to hear anyones view on this as it all helps! What about suitable crosses for a Ruminaja Ali grand-daughter out of an Ibn Morafic daughter, tail female is Bint Maisa El Saghira?

My mare luckily has 4 black hooves (she had no white on her legs) and a black muzzle except for a tiny pink snip on her chin! I am afraid I am really not keen on pink on the muzzle so I would always try to find a stallion a like with little or no pink/white if possible. But then that's me being a bit picky! rolleyes.gif

The best nicks IMO with the Ruminaja Ali line are Polish, esp. *Bask related mares. I've seen quite a few examples of this cross and they are very very nice: extreme type with a good amount of athletism and great personalities.
corbinmk
Such as Vivacious Leigh?

Hi Everyone,

I guess I should get on this coversation being that Ali was my boy! Trueglory is right on about Ali crossing well with *Bask bred mares! My best Ali daughter is out of a Bask bred mare. Her name is Ali's Valentine. I just sold a Ali daughter out of a *Deficyt daughter that is a nice mare as well, she is in foal to Ali El Din. One of Ali's best son's Focus Shali is out of a Gdansk bred mare. Ali also crossed well with *El Shaklan, Fadjur & Khemo lines. Ali was very versatile breeding stallion. As far as Straight Egyptian breeding is concerned my Uncle & my personal preference is Egyptian Prince & Ansata lines. Ali Reshan is a fine example of that breeding. *Ibn Moniet El Nefous lines also crossed well.Towards the end of Ali's breeding career we bred a Imdal bred mare and the resulting colt Aspecial Ali turned out very very well! But Ali's all time best cross was being bred to our El Magato daughters.

Take Care
Matt

Dear Sasha,

I suggest *Orashan. He has three crosses to Morafic and Zareefa and traces back to the same tail female line. biggrin.gif

Dear Matt

Thanks for your reply - what an amazing stallion Ali was to produce so well out of so many different types of mare. I wish I could have seen him in the flesh. I have two Ali grand-daughters (both via their sire MA Alishah) one is straight egyptian as discussed earlier but the other one is out of a Polish/Russian/Crabbet mare. Both my mares are outstanding but COMPLETELY different to each other in almost every way!

Dear Dr Wigger

Thanks for the tip - who knows I may follow it one day soon when I am brave enough (and rich enough!) to try AI for the first time!

Many thanks

Sasha

Another great breeder that used the Ruminaja Ali blood quite successfully in her breeding program was the lady breeder of Focus Farms.
DinFayez 7
Dear Sasha,

Your more than welcome. I to wish you could have seeen Ali in the flesh! He was truly a MAGICAL! stallion. Ali's little brother Fayez reminds me allot of Ali. I hope you have great sucess with your mares.

Best Wishes
Matt

The same Shaikh Al Badi x Bint Magidaa blood (Ruminaja Bahjat daughter) bred to Makhsous produced the beautiful stallion, Marquis I. I'm about to try a similar cross in reverse by breedig a Makhsous daughter to Matt's Ruminaja Fayez (Shaikh Al Badi x Bint Magidaa). I want to use that blood before it's gone!

Good idea, Nancy P, to consider breeding to Fayez.

I believe that many of R. Ali's top foals came from the crossing to other Abayyan lines, either through Ibn Hafiza or through the Abayyan mares, and I don't mean inbreeding to Bint Magidaa. JMO

yes Spiker , Focus Farms bred RA lines on almost every line..And they where consistant in type down threw the years. They did the egyptian cross spectacularily...If I had more years they are the breeding program I would mirror

Does anyone know if either Linda or Loy Davidson are still in the breeding business? If not, do you know what happened to their horses--like Focus Khemali, Focus Fanali, Prince Fanali, Focus Shali (heard that Alimus died)? We visited their farm a number of years ago and saw 64 of the most beautiful creatures you'd ever want to lay eyes on....not necessarily the best legs I've ever seen, but their beauty and movement was out of this world. Came very close to buying Focus Gabriella on that visit. Am glad now that we didn't get her as she became a superstar in Europe, and we could not have provided the means to such an illustrious career! I remember they had an incredible creature who was not for sale...a chestnut mare, Focus Fanessa. Anyone ever heard of her or know where she is now?

Loy and Linda were down-to-earth, fun people; and I hated to hear that they were dispersing their herd. They told us they both studied genetics in college--guess that paid off! They also laughed that of about 14 of the first Ruminaja Ali breedings they bought 11 of the foals were colts! Still, they came out ok... I still treasure the photos and the video we took of their farm and their horses.

Dear Sasha

I have just bought a double Ruminaja Ali colt; he will be two this year and if he grows on well I will use him on a couple of mares next year. I have two SE Egyptian Prince granddaughters and will use him on them if he is good enough. If not, he will make a super gelding!

If you are interested in seeing him you are very welcome to visit. I hope to get him in the show ring this summer but he needs an awful lot of work before then as he had not been out for months before I got him. At the moment he is just enjoying his days in the paddock and learning to be free again!

There are quite a few new SE stallions and colts in UK this year so the choice is getting a lot better.

Hello Sasha,
Just to give you something to look forward to, I will be showing S A Riibaal next year, so you will be able to to come and say hello. I really want to start at Rochdale in 2005, to see how he goes in doors just have to see how it goes. He has tooth bumps at the moment so his head looks a little un settled to say the least.

I am going to breed my Ali daughter out of a Barnaby daughter to the Versace son Odyssey SC next spring. So we will see how that cross works! I am excited about it!

Hello Paul

Very glad to hear you are taking him out and will look forward to seeing how he looks at 3 years old. Hope his tooth bumps go down a bit but it may be a few years for that I'm afraid. Rabdah still has hers to a certain degree and she is 7 years old! She is now in foal to Ansata Qasim so there will be a half brother or sister to Riibaal born next spring which is very exciting!

I may also be showing at Rochdale if all goes well as I have a new colt foal by Eternity Ibn Navaronne who I will be taking out next year in the yearling colt classes. See you there!

But Ali's all time best cross was being bred to our El Magato daughters.

  Matt

I had the privledge of seeing El Magato and also many of his get. Fadi was heavily promoted by Heritage Hills, but it was El Magato who was by far the best sire. The horses I noticed at shows and sales and that made a favorable impression, were by El Magato.
