I would really like to expand my knowledge of this family, to include all the contemporary horses that belong to this outstanding family of horses. I am a big fan of these horses and have never seen one that I did not like. Will anyone share their knowledge, thoughts, feelings and hopefully pictures? One of the things that I would like to learn most is how to breed these horses. What are the best crosses and why? And what qualities appear to be the strongest of this family, as seen from generation to generation?

I realized that there might be some people who are not familiar with this line of super, super horses. And I thought that it might be neat to post a picture of the mare that founded this family at Ansata Arabian Stud. The mare is Falima, sired by *Ansata Ibn Halima and out of the Babson mare, FaHabba (a first generation daughter of the 1932 Babson Egyptian imports: *Fadl x *Bint Bint Sabbah). Falima is the dam of important broodmares, like for example, Ansata Nile Mist, who went on to found an important family at Imperial (when bred to Dr. Nagel's *Jamilll, produced Imperial Mistill, who in turn produced horses like Imperial Kamilll and Imperial Saturn). In the portrait section of this website, you will find this terrific article about
Imperial Mistilll.

We bred our Imperial Mistilll daughter (by Ibn Safinaz) to Ansata El Ibriz (A. Halim Shah x A. Rebecca) and got a lovely filly. We were looking to get length of neck and hip and were very successful . El Ibriz has god good movement so we doubled up on that with this filly. I've been trying to post her picture but so far I can't get it to work. If I figure it out, I'll post it. The mare (Imperial Dakilah) is in foal for another of this combination, due in May. Hopefully it will be a filly

Here's a picture of Dakilah at five months of age. She is from the Imperial Mistilll daughter Imperial Dakilah (by Ibn Safinaz). We bred Imperial Dakilah to Ansata El Ibriz (A. Halim Shah x A. Rebecca) and were very pleased with the results. There is another one of these on the way for a May delivery, hopefully a filly

OH - a subject near and dear to my heart.

I had the pleasure of taking care of Nile Mist, along with several generations of progeny. I'll try to pull together some pictures this weekend to post.
I'm glad to hear Dakilah is doing well. We used to let her loose in the mare barn, as a foal, to wander free at will during the late afternoon feeding/meds, etc. (given her rough start in life, I confess she was spoiled).

She was quite a character and was thoroughly convinced she was a person....needless to say, she wasn't real thrilled at weaning time, but she finally figured it out.

Hi Beth:
How interesting to hear of Dakilah as a foal. She is still totally a unique character. So sure she is the queen of everything. We too let her wander around the barn and she stops at every stall and tells the occupants to bow at her feet. We love her dearly. I'm going to try once again to post the picture of her filly.
Sorry for the other extra posts. I can't figure out why they didn't work since I've done this before.

Hello Ralph,
I have a wonderful stallion, SES Nile Safir,

who is double Ansata Nile breeding (through both tail-female lines). His sire is Ansata Nile Pasha (*Jamilll x Ansata Nile Dream) and his dam is Imperial Mistic (Ibn Morafic x Ansata Nile Mist).
There have been many pictures of Ansata Nile Pasha on se.com due to his recent return to the limelight. Safir is his only se son standing in the U.S.
I will attach a picture of Safir here. You can see more pictures of his family, at our website www.gateway-farm.com (also in se.com classified section). Safir’s strengths are powerful, ground covering movement, excellent disposition, size, graceful neck, and overall elegance which he is passing on to his babies. You can also view his video and full family presentation at the website.
I'm very happy to see all of the other Ansata Nile family members also - thanks for asking for them!
Best regards,
Linda Scott

Well that picture attached so I will venture another one...
This one is of SES Nile Safir's dam, Imperial Mistic (Ibn Morafic x Ansata Nile Mist), and was originally taken by Johnny Johnston.

Hi Ralph.
Another stallion from this line who came to the UK is the former British National Junior Champion Nile Bequest 1988 by El Majiid out of Ansata Nile Gift (Ansata Ibn Sudan X Ansata Nile Jewel). I feel fortunate to own his only SE daughter Princess Nile Moniet who is out of Princess Kamar by Imperial Al Kamar. A picture of Nile Bequest taken I believe by one of the Sweet's should be below.

Hallo Forum,
maybe someone can help me about the stallion
Imperial Kamilll.
Who is his owner?
How many offsprings does he?
What kind of success does he has?
Thanks.
Best wishes

Dear Sven,
Imperial Kamill is now oned by Donald Duke/UK.
Imperial Kamilll won several class A shows in the USA
and was shown at the US National Futurities as a three-years-old
but an untimely injury prevented Kamilll from being presented in the finals.
He was, however, first on all four judges' cards in the qualifying class!
At the international B-Show at Merristwood/UK in 2002 he was
named Reserve Champion Stallion (behind Richter MH)
but in Towerlands at the same year he was named Champion Stallion
with the highest points ever. In Paris at the World Championships
he went "Top Five".
I know that Donald Duke has several foals of him now and Imperial
Egyptian Stud retained some of his daughters as broodmares.
Marilyn Sweet has excellent photos of Kamilll and of some of his get -
unfortunately I have them deleted from my computer by accident
- so I can't them post here.

You'll find a picture of him in the article about his dam,
Imperial Mistilll in the PORTRAITs. And have a look
at the INTERNATIONAL section - there you'll find reports
about Merristwood (2002) and Paris (2003) with pics of him.
And of course, this one:

Dear Christine,
As far as I know no but you can reach them under samsarastud@hotmail.com
Oliver looking forward for you to find those pictures back, I believe Susanne has them to - maybe she can share them?
I had the good fortune (bloody expensive England) to visit the farm last year, it was a great pleasure to see Imperial Kamil and his get. I think he's doing a great job on their Nagel related mares. One filly especially was absolutely stunning. But all foals seem to be stamped by him in a very correct way. Short head, with good eyes and totally curled up ears, long necks, good shoulders, good bodies fantastic tail carriage and movement. Just what you wopuld hope from this stallion he would give but the consistency of his production really kept surprising me.
The idea of the farm now is to keep the Kamil daughters and use them for future broodmares. Then it was Suzies and Donalds idea to use a heavingly bred Bukra stallion on them (combination between the Nile fam and Bukra fam has proven itself well here in the Middle East). For this purpose they came and purshased a young stunning colt by Ashhal out of a Bukra mare from Al Rayyan Farm. I hope it will work but I have good believes in it.
If you have the chance to visit the farm, really do it it's a very nice group of mares and I think that the Kamill foals will soon be proving themself very worthy.
Now let's get these pictures!
All the Best, Bart.

This is one lovely stallion that should shortly be seen under saddle. There has been pressure for his owners to show him again in Halter. However, I'm told that the plans are to bring him out under saddle at the end of the season—he should look stunning. The Imperial horses are frequently seen in performance, they have managed to keep both the type and great performance ability in their breeding program. I loved to watch Imperial Baarez competing in dressage, and I'm sure that Kamill will be very bit as impressive in whatever classes he competes. Liz Salmon
