I am interested in hearing from you if you utilize Fa-Serr in your breeding programs? I for one really liked this stallion and was just interested in seeing who still uses his blood in their herd.

Anyone, here who was able to see this stallion in person? If so, what are your thoughts on him?
Inchallah
Hi !

I really like the Fa-Serr blood too. My stallion Desert Wind CH has multiple crosses to him as he's a Babson/Tuhotmos stallion. One of my favorites is Fa-Serr's son Ibn Fa-Serr. I think Fa-Serr bloodlines are very valuable to had good movement, legs and body. The dark colors and refined black skin he added most of the time is a special bonus.

We just started a very interesting series about Babson horses in ARABISCHE NOTIZEN. This articles are written by Peter Van Ingen, who has a great heart for Babson breeding.

If you are interested, please, contact me: ArabischeNotizen@web.de.

Hello everyone,

Thank you very much for your responses. I have been away for a bit and came back to see a beautiful picture and lovely comments.

Peter, I received the info, I just hadn't had the time to respond yet. Will do so shortly.

Do any of you have a photo of the Fa-Serr daughter Serr Sabbah out of Fay-Sabbah, please ? I can't find one on the net ! She's on the tail female of my stallion.
Maria
Dear Inchallah,
I can't provide any photos but could you describe the personality of your horses. Are there any differences between new lines and the old Babson horses? I have no experince with the Babsons but heard so many good things about their personality.

I put a pic request in on that mare on a picture group I am a part of. Hopefully someone has a picture for you.

I also just wanted to say thanks for all the private emails sent to me about Fa-Serr. I am enjoying all of them.

I currently have 2 Fa-Serr grandaughters, 3 stallions one of which is a double Fay-El-Dine great grandson on his top side with Fa-Serr and Baarouf on the bottom, an Ansata Ibn Halima grandson with Amir El Dine and Baarouf on the bottom, an Ibn Halima grandaughter also with Fa-Serr and Baarouf on the bottom, and a mare who is SE on the top-side and Fa-serr on the bottom. Also I have a Fa-Serr great granduaghter on the bottom and SE on top. So far I have had the best results breeding my SE stud to my mares that have Fa-Serr farther back in their lines. However I have not been able to go wrong crossing my close Fa-Serr lines with Ansata Ibn Halima lines. Also the personality and temperment is wonderful. I have also had good luck croosing my SE stud with my Ibn Halima/Fa-Serr mares.

Although we have no direct descendants of Fa Serr, the temperament of the Babson Horses is in my opinion INCREDIBLE. We have a mostly Babson stallion here, one line to Tuhotmos thru Om Khamsa and one line to Halima thru Raadin Inshalla with a little line to Sirecho thru Sireff. However in the end he finishes all Babson.
This last Saturday, Sheykh apparently rolled in his stall and when he got up he inadvertantly put his left rear leg thru the bottom and second from the bottom rung of the stall panels of his "in and out" stall. Since the climate is so gentle here we decided to have an open air barn for maximum circulation plus the boys can see everything that is going on, keeps them in tune and interested in things. I had gone to town to take care of a chore and Jenny, my most important significant other was mucking the stalls just across the aisle when she heard panels shaking and some agitated nickering from Sheykh's direction. She ran over and saw him with his leg trapped as he was just standing there looking at her with pleading eyes. Mind you Jenny had no help at all, so initially she attempted to free the leg by raising it sideways and pushing it thru but the poor horse just grunted and stared back at her. So she went in the stall and tried helping from the side. He put his head on her shoulder and nuzzled her cheek and nickered gently as he leaned on her to rest. Now in a panic, Jenny straightened him up and ran into the tack house and grabbed my 18 Volt circular saw with a carbide chop saw blade for wood and cut the panel bar while Sheykh stood there calmly and watched. Now I don't know how many of you have ever cut a 2 and a half inch stud panel tube but let me tell you the noise is really irritating and he just knew she was helping so he did not move. As soon as he felt that the bar had dropped free he nickered and pivoted and walked over to get a drink of water then followed Jenny all around the pen as she cleaned up the panel, the saw etc. He knew perfectly well that she had helped him. I came home and all was well except a tube was cleanly cut out of the panel and I saw my carbide blade somewhat worse for wear and totally unfit for use on wood but other than severe abrasion injuries to his left hind, Sheykh is A-OK. Personally I love that horse, he may be smaller than most but he is more HORSE than just about all of them with a temperament and intelligence, at which I continue to marvel.

Hi !

I really love talking about the Babson's personnality. Theses horses almost react like humans. I know it doesn't fit some people's way of thinking (those who prefer crazy Arabians), but these horses truely act different from any other line or bred I've seen so far. You can only realize how great it is when you spend some times close to them.
My stallion for example is able to understand any of my feelings. When I'm sad he's sweet and friendly. When I'm happy he's happy with me. When I'm angry, he isn't affraid, he just try to understand. He does understand everything around him and it looks like he's thinking before acting. I can sleep in his stall with no fear and also lie down under him between his four legs, I know he will always take care not to hurt me. He's a real gentlemen with mares and he's nicely chatting them up, which is really great because I can ride, walk in hand or have his stall next to other mares without any problems. Most people won't realize he's a stallion until I told them or if I ask him to show off. It's always the same comment I get : "This is the sweetest horse I've ever seen before".
I would say these lines are typically enduring (they never give up), skilful (which is very nice for riding as you can really trust them), trustful (they would die for you), animated (they react quickly), intelligent (they understand everything) and distinguished (they act like royal beings).
They are not nervous and so aren't really show horses. They have been bred to be working horses and family horses. They can show off but they aren't playing like actors, they are always true to themselves.

I have recently acquired a 2 yo colt who is double Fa-Serr through his dam and is an Ibn Halima grandson through his sire. In fact he has 4 crosses to Ibn Halima, and is quite a handsome fellow

Where could we find babson horses in Europe?
Which farm continue to product such horses?

Thanks a lot for your answers.

JAL,

What an incident and what a great horse!! Thank goodness he was as good as he is, for that surely would have been a hard moment to keep calm in. I am sure he helped Jenny out quite a bit. I am glad to hear he is A OK.

Anyone have photos they may like to share of Fa-Serr bred horses, or any relatives?
eric
Hello All, In a previous post I mentioned that my colt was double Fa Serr, after rechecking he is actually triple Fa Serr bred through his dam , who is a Fa Daalim daughter out of a Fabo daughter who was sired by Fa Daalim. So he is triple Fa Serr through 2 crosses to Fa Daalim and one to Fabo. He is sired by Halim El Mansour, a Ansata Ibn Halima x RDM Haala son and yes he is gorgeous.

Hello Clothilde,

I don't know of every SE horse is Europe with Babson blood. However, I know there's a couple of Straight Babson horses : one mare Bint Fay Amy is in Belgium, another one is owned by Sheikha Lulua Al Sabbah and the Stam family in Ireland does concentrate on these bloodlines, their foundation mare being AK Serasaab. I also know of a couple of close Babson bred horses namely Desert Wind CH (Inchallah Arabians) and Meranti Shahnan (Tariifa Arabians) in France, Ashri Al'Ameed (Ashri Arabians) and Canasta Mesbah (Infinity Arabians) in Belgium, Manara Faaris (Barbara Lohenhert) in Germany, WK Haafid El Hilal, Meranti Fa Asar and Meranti Nile King in England (all owned by Mr Nicolas Martine). Several of these breeders also have Babson related mares. Also, you have to consider these bloodlines are pretty rare in Europe as they are typically american foundation horses. So most are in the U.S., some breeders focusing on these bloodlines are the Johnsons of Bint Al Bahr Arabians and Elizabeth Dawsari of Bani Dawsari Performance Horses. A little further from the Straight Babson lines are the offsprings of Mohafez in Germany.

I hope it helps !

Hi all,

Emma, my 1,5 yrs old daughter, was indeed very fond of Desert Wind! She petted him and giggled everytime she run her fingers through his mane!

She even did "ride" our SO mare Manara Samira (masada massud x matara saafana), guess the disposition indeed stands out a lot!

We have a beautiful Babson bred stallion here who is triple Fa-Serr, double Ibn Fa-Serr grandson by Serr Rou. Does anyone have photos they could post of Ibn Fa-Serr, Fa-Serr, and Serr Rou??

Here is Serr Bah by Serr Rou x Fa Haretta.

If he's proven healthy and sound (legs/feet/lungs/heart) we might have frozen semen available from Meranti Ibn Fa Asar (Fa AsarxEl Dahma Halima) season 2005. Since the owner of this stallion is very generous, we will offer this semen for a very low price. More information: email me privately at info@nasheeta.com

This might be also a good chance to get introduced into the Babson blood.

My daughters stallion, Daalim El Nefous, has two crosses each to Fa Serr and his full brother, Fa El Dine, as well as one cross to their full sister Fa Deene. These all come through his sire Fa Durra Halim (Fa Daalim x Sar Falih Fatah). He also has a tail female Babson line through his dam Sajha Selket (Ibn Moniet El Nefous x Bint Fa Abba), making him almost half Babson.

The temperament and athletic ability from the Babsons is fantastic. My daughter often uses Daalim El Nefous as a lesson horse over fences. He is happiest living with another horse and it does not matter to him if the other horse is a mare, gelding, or young stallion!
I am not making idle claims as to the athletic ability either. We have Eventing horses. *Sam* has Evented at the Novice level, winning his division, and several of his larger part Arab children are now beginning competition. His Anglo-Arab daughter, Foreign Policy is ready for Preliminary ( * ) competition.

There are pics of Daalim El Nefous(aka *Sam*), though not really very good ones, on our site (www.larapintasporthorses.com ) on the Services page and at the bottom of the History page. His AA daughter, Foreign Policy, is the cross country jumper on the logo at the top of each page.

Hi everybody!

Here is a picture of one of my mare: MH Nawal Bint Anaroufa she has a lot of Babson blood and double Fa-Serr. This is a candid shot.

My stallion, Kaysa Jerry, has Fa-Serr in his background and the personalities already described, fit him to a tee.
Very protective of me, loyal and thinks my place is on his back. Easy to handle and a dream to ride.
Here are a couple photos of my boy,:
