Here is a pic my friend Lisa Brady took of my new Makhnificent KA colt 2 days ago. I am very pleased with the results of this mating (Makhnificent KA x KA Sultan Raqwa)! I have NEVER had a colt with such spark and attitude - he's really different. I can't wait to meet some of you in the ring with him! wink.gif

I have named him Makhiavelli - he's 3 weeks old today. biggrin.gif

Best regards,
Nancy P.

Nancy!

Beautiful colt! I can see why you are so excited about him! I like his head carriage, his tippy ears, and his strong chest. His attitude shows in the picture! You may be calling him . . . Prince Makhiavelli! With his pedigree, he should have terrific movement as well.

Congratulations on breeding such a nice colt!

Thank you, everyone! I'm thrilled to have him, but I have to give Kehilan the credit for the breeding - they are doing such a great job there!!

He is such a rascal; I'm already getting really attached to him! Babette, Makhiavelli is a more than 3/4 brother to Regal Spirit KA, the colt I told you about earlier who was owned, last time I heard, by someone in Italy.

Best regards,
Nancy
Babette
Hi Nancy,

I think Regal Spirit is owned by someone in Italy AND someone in France......I have to contact the owner and ask where they are showing him.

It´s one of the rare horses of our favorite lines I can visit more often than you... tongue.gif tongue.gif tongue.gif

Most of the others are in the USA ! <_<

I will give you an information about him as I knew it.

Babette

Nancy, he looks very promising indeed. I love the Kehilan horses as they have excellent type and athletic ability. The whole family are wonderful too. They are only an hour from me, so I go down there quite often. Liz Salmon
Ralph
Hey Nancy! Congratulations on Makhiavelli! Everyone has said so many nice things about your colt, I think that I would be incredibly redundant by saying the same things! For such a little guy, he already has so much presence and it really comes through the picture! What a personality! smile.gif

Ralph
Ladypurr
Nancy, he's just a "lady-killer! Wow! what a guy!

You know, I love Keheilan Arabians breeding program. Makhsous was a tremendous sire and his legacy will go on forever in foals like this eye-catching colt.

Mahknificent is my favorite of the two Mahksous sons but I have to admit, Marquis is siring some superlative foals.

Gosh! It would be so much fun to be able to breed a mare to Mahknificent, get a filly and then turn around later and breed her to Marquis! These two are exceptional stallions and lucky you--you've got a star in the making!

No, I don't think I'd want to go up against him in a colt class. He'll be a tough competitor!

Congratulations! Have fun with him. He exudes personality and self confidence.

How nice you all are! smile.gif Babette - you are right - Regal Spirit IS owned by people in both France and Italy. I hope you do get to visit him!! You are welcome to visit here anytime you are in the states. biggrin.gif

Thank you, Ralph! To what stallion did you finally breed your lovely mare?

Liz - it really makes me happy that you agree with my assessment of both the Kehilan horses and the family behind them - absolutely wonderful, WONDERFUL people!!

And Susan, you know - it's funny. When I first saw Kehilan's two Makhsous sons, it was Marquis I fell in love with - he has such ethereal beauty, then I decided that Makhnificent was the better sire, then I saw what Marquis has sired in horses like Sundance KA and Mystical Moonlight, and I think he is a great sire as well - let me tell you - you are on to something with the idea of breeding a Makhnificent filly to Marquis I! Kehilan is already breeding Makhsous daughters to Marquis with STUNNING results!!

A parting shot - the day we photographed Makhiavelli, he was soooooooooo tired. I probably shouldn't post this, and you all may change your opinions about him completely after seeing it, but I swear he turned around and said, "Are you STILL following me???" So cute!

Best regards!
Nancy
Carol Maginn
Nancy,

Yes - you have a real treasure in your barn! Makhi is just SOOO sweet! I have been watching videos of Sameh and Sakr, and Nabiel this evening, and to to know that all those incredible horses (not to mention the dams) are in your colt's pedigree is just so impressive. It is amazing to own such a living legacy and to be a part of the history of those who came before us... I wonder what the future holds for you and your horses...

I wish that somehow we could have a sort of Egyptian Arabian Weekend Retreat where we could have all the people who started the SE legacy together with all the new folks like us so we could just hang out and talk about horses all weekend and have fun. Wouldn't that be neat? Hansi could tell us wild stories, and the Trapps could talk about Nabiel, and Rhita McNair could tell us so much, Liz could tell us about what was going on in Europe... And we could all just wear our jeans and eat barbeque with no stress - just sort of a fun time - maybe people would even bring their old home movies...

Anyway - I'm sort of getting off track here, feeling nostalgic, but seeing your colt makes me realize that we are all intertwined - with the past and the future... Little Makhi has no idea how royal his pedigree is - he just knows what a little proud boy he is!

Carol

ps: we really should do this - maybe we could just call it a party or something...We would just need a big room with a video screen, good food, and really comfy couches!
Nancy P
Oh my gosh, Carol!!! I would LOVE to be a part of something like that! Just imagine what a wondeful learning experience it would be to just sit and listen to people who were a part of the first importations and who have done so much in the name of the Egyptian horse - what you described sounds like my idea of actual heaven (with the horses there, of course!). What fun it would be to watch old horse videos while sitting in comfort with people like Hansi and Liz and Becky R. and Janice and Bill Trapp and Rhita McNair and loads of others, commenting on the horses they knew and loved - not to sell horses, just to LEARN about them...with no stress and no pretension - just to SEE and evaluate our horses' ancestors. oh, the stories I'm sure they could tell! I know Becky Rogers has TONS of old videos -wonder who else does? We should make this happen! Oh, I just finished watching your Salon du Cheval tape and watching your girls cavort in their pasture - such fun! Thanks for sharing!!

Oh, and thanks for saying such nice things about my boy! Probably just because you have a sister! tongue.gif LOL

Congratulations!

Roger
Hi Christian,
I'm just now getting around to looking at this thread and seeing your new colt. What a good looking boy! My German is not so good, but as I understand it he is by Dalia Halim and out of a Shaikh Al Badi daughter? I'm envious. Congratulations on a wonderful looking colt.
almuntaha
Hi Roger,

yes you are right and I think your german is still great! wink.gif
He is by Dalia Halim out of Shaikh Monhalima by Shaikh Al Badi
out of Chafa Monhalima by Ansata El Sherif...
I like this combination and she produces well with Halim Shah blood!!
Last year she gave birth to a nice filly by Salaa El Dine called Al Muntaha Shareefa
which makes me proud biggrin.gif

Isn't she lovely?

Our filly born March 20th, her dam is an Ali Valentino daughter. She is triple Ruminaja Ali. I think she is fabulous! We are thrilled to have her. She is 5 days old in this picture.

Here's my new favorite - taken yesterday. Lots more pics from yesterday at Makhiavelli.

He will go to his first show in the Debutante class in September - I am already excited! (can you tell??)

I think she will be bay!? She looks more chestnut in the pictures but does have some black on the tips of her ears and you can see it coming through on her legs.

She's brand new and is our only foal due this year. Though her registered name is pending, here's "Sophie" (Ali El Din x Katera Jabaskk).

Here's one more picture of Sophie:

Yes, she is lovely! And so is her dam!

I just posted a couple pics of our new girl who is a Ruminaja Ali granddaughter. Wow, 3 crosses!! Did you get Matt's video? It has a wonderful tribute to Ruminaja Ali and I hope you have a copy since you love that breeding, too!
Susanne Boesche
I like your mare, too. Who is she? Could you tell us a little bit more, Patti?
Nancy P
Wendy,

She is a little cutie! Bet you're proud!!

Patti,

Yes, she's lovely. Now may I have them both?

Hehehehheh!

She is a lovely filly! What color will she end up? She needs more time to unfold. After unfolding, can you post new photos of her? What is her name?
Wendy B
Spiker,

Yes, I can post more photos when she has time to unfold--I like that term! She's all legs--her mother grew another big one. You should see her half-sister, already 15hh though not yet two!

Sorry, but I can't tell you her name until the Registry says I have it--not really a secret ph34r.gif, just not hers until they say so! We call her Sophie.

She is a golden bay--has the black tail and super-curly black mane! Not any black points yet to see, though.

Thanks for the comments!
Naughty Pine
Hi Everyone,

thank you for your kind remarks. Wendy I saw the pictures of your filly, she looks really nice too! Yes I have the video of Ali, it has the sire of your filly on it as well. Ali is definately one of my favourites. Susan .... tongue.gif you can dream about having them!! Susanne, the filly's dam is an "Maarla", she is 8 years old and is out of Ali Valentino x Marjaan, Marjaan is by Amaal x Maraa. Maarla has really nice conformation a long neck, beautiful head, excellent hip, short back and lots of leg. she is a good height 15.1-15.2h I got her in 2002, this is her first foal for me, she had 2 foals for the previous owners.

Patti
Naughty Pine
Congratulaions Wendy! I am sure you are thrilled to have her!
