Well, Ibn El Mareekh was the horse that got me seriously interested in Egyptians. When I was about 12 years old there was an article in the times about him and the St. Clairs by Arleene Majid (I may be misspelling her name) and I was captivated by the horses and the story. I love the Mareekh look and only wish I saw more of this line!

i loooooooove mareekh bloodlines wub.gif whenever i look at a horse and go ohhhh yum more often than not im looing at something of el mareekh decent! tongue.gif i know colour isnt at all important when looking at a horse but I love that rich bay coat that so many mareekh decendants seem to have. i have an ibn el mareekh grand daughter- not fantastic pics here but i think shes fab so ill put them up anyway!

mystic- is your ibn grandson Alfano Mystall? if so his dam and the sire of my mare are full siblings. his name is martenique- you can see him in the pedigree database. my mare though not straight egyptian (about 72% i think), as her dam is a mixture of crabbet/egyptian.

hum- possibly not an overly helpful reply sure someone else can dazzle you with fantastic facts and storys- look forward to seeing them myself! i do know el mareekh died when he was only 6- terrible loss.

oh also here are some of his show results:
1981 US National top ten stallion
1981 Scottsdale Top Ten stallion
Nine most classic awards

well ive gone on long enough blink.gif would love to see more pics of mysteekh and mystal they really are lovely!

I watched a video recently of historic clips of stallions in the sixties and seventies and El Mareekh was completely outstanding in terms of movement on the clips of Egyptian stallions .

The Elixir, standing at Michael Byatt Arabians, is a beautiful example of an Ibn El Mareekh grandson.
He carries the movement, disposition, and great balance of that line.

Hello, Kristibelle!

I would send some pictures of Rajah if I could but,I don't have a scanner yet!, and my computer is an oldie... maybe I can get you some in the future. Rajah's sire is Bay Mareekh by Ibn el Mareekh.... his dam is a mare named Karrina her sire is Serenity Kariq out of Khofo, and her Dam is a mare named Sherzeraa which I don't know a whole lot about. Rajah will be 3yrs. next summer can't wait to see what he is going to do!!! What do you think about this mix of bloodlines? I would really like too know! If you have any more question's about Rajah I would be glad to answer them!

Thank's Again!!!

I almost forgot... Did you mean that Ibn El Mareekh was going to be shown this year if so were? Thank's

Hi Southwind,
A friend just might be interested in this boy, what's his story & is he a fertile stallion? She just lost her
SE Maareke bred stallion who was out of a Morafic daughter. Thanks Much, I will tell her to keep an eye on the forum for your reply, since we will be at a big show for the next few day's. Sincerely, Lisa

I was fortunate enough to see *El Mareekh several times in Wisconsin, Florida, at the Event, Scottsdale and at the National Show before his tragic loss at age 7. Had he lived even a few more years, I believe his impact on the Arabian breed, and especially SE Arabians, would have been immense. I still have Arrow Mahareekh, my cherished 25 year old Egyptian related *El Mareekh son, and now his 5 year old son Starmareekh, who is a dark chestnut clone of his famous grandsire in looks, personality and motion. I am currently having my VHS video of *El Mareekh put on a DVD and will send a copy to SE.com when it is complete. *El Mareekh was a unique and very special horse with a presence you could never forget.

Also check out the topic "El Mareekh sons still out there?". I posted several personal photos of *El Mareekh there, and other SE.com members posted comments and photos as well oftheir *El Mareekh bred horses.

I remember the top reason that I began to look at Arabians to actually buy. It was a picture of Hi-Fashion Mreekh (Ibn El Mareekh (*El Mareekh x Bint Deenaa)x Hi Fashion Hitesa) in one of the early Arabian Horse World Quarterly. Gorgeous rich bay, big plumy tail and that complete look of self-worth. What a horse to look at. I've never seen him upclose (if he is still alive) but his son, The Elixir is just as stunning to watch on video just powerhousing along.
Egyptian Star
Hello Everyone,

I have been in the background for so long that I forget, no one knows
I exist, except maybe Rick Augustine...Who actually I contibute my
love the El Mareekh lines to, for introducing me to him, when I first
got into Straight Egyptians so many years ago. Thanks Again Rick.

I have two direct Grandsons of Ibn El Mareekh and Bint El Mareekh. Of course I also have great grandchild of His...I have had the pleasure and the most wonderful foals out of this combination, bred onto the Anter lines.

I would be happy to help anyone come to know the hidden treasure of
this great horse. Of course this is the source of Sameh and Alaa El Din lines that I
have chosen to preserve. Now my primary foundation Stallion "El Rameekh Amir" has the wonderful Dam line of Princess Salam (The Egyptian Price x Talooa).
She was also the Dam of the Egyptian Even Reservce Champion Mare in 1997 'The Minstril's Kiss'. There is that *Talal blood that I also treasure. My other Stallion Star of Saheerh is also half brother to Rameekh out of a AK Bafadi x Diaa (Dalul x Cedardell Tiffany) who I am breeding this coming year.

One of Rameekh Son's El Shubann has three lines to *Talal and produced an
out standing daughter out of a Moniet El Sharaf daughter. She is beautiful of course.

Anyway, if any of you would like to see the what *El Mareekh blood can
do, please feel free to email me egyptianstar@sbcglobal.net.
I am now located in Mena, Arkansas....yes, on the other side to is Ansata.
I have Walter's 2nd farm. And the horses are in horse heaven

Hi Pam at Egyptian star,

Nice to hear from you Pam. Mahareekh is still looking good and going strong at 25 years. And now I have Starmareekh his son who is out of the Mahareekh grandaughter Charlot Valentine. Starmar is even more like *El Mareekh than his sire in looks, personality and motion except he is a dark chocolate chestnut. I plan ot show him in liberty classes in 2007.

Pam visited my farm several years ago and fell in love with the my Egyptian related *El Mareekh son Arrow Mahareekh. So much so in fact, that she based her SE program on *El Mareekh lines.

Mahareekh is probalby the most look alike son of *El Mareekh, and had he been SE, he would have been a main SE sire line source for *El Mareekh blood. The St Clairs purchased Mahareekh to show how prepotent *El Mareekh was as a sire, and of course the St. Clairs would have never sold him to me after his sire's death had be been a SE, as he would have been an important successor to *El Mareekh. So when people say too bad he isn't a SE, I have mixed emotions about that. But seeing how he has sired, it is definitley a loss to the SE lines as he has been very prepotent in siring the *El Mareekh look and motion, even with is limited number o foals ofrm my small program.

I have posted some photos of Maharekh and the last photo is his sire *El Mareekh. I think they are very similar.

I just took some photos of my *El Mareekh grandson today... just fuzzy, fat, ungroomed, unposed. The look is very strong through and through... Below is El Rashiid MA by El Majiid (*Ansata Ibn Halima x Ansata Jellabia) and out of Maar-Riana (*El Mareekh x MFA Kiia), Nov. 2006 at 5 years.
Rik Augustin
Any chance Rashiid will be going to the 2007 Event?

Rik

Not likely unless he is sold or leased as I am not doing much with the horses any longer... sad.gif
