A lovely weekend has just past After a rainy week (over 40mls of rain in fact) the all Arabian 2004 'Challenge' show here in Toowoomba, Queensland, Australia took place. Major studs from at least the eastern states participating! The days were brilliant but cool / chilly considering the rain/dampness factor! The judge for the halter classes being Judith Forbis. Performance judge was Paul Morath from Western Australia along with Mieke Bigg.

Hopefully the following is correct…

The supreme purebreds all being ‘home-bred’ supreme stallion is the sE, AK grey Joda Aly Dahr (The Fugitive x HMT Alidah) owned Joda Arabian Stud. Supreme mare was chestnut Halima’s Kaptivation (Sanadik Ibn Estopa x Kaptivation) owned by Forest Hill and last but not least Supreme gelding Bullion (Legacy of Gold x Hideaway Farm Ka’arlima) who’s owner, Courtney Sharman was ecstatic with her gelding’s achievement and thankful of her dad’s handling skills (Richard Sharman). Supreme purebred under saddle was Simeon Sorek (Anaza Bay Shahh x Simeon Sivan), owned by the vibrant personality, Jo Bailey.

Champion Filly – sE, AK, Sabtah Black Beauty (Durra Shahh x Rianda’s Raslina)
Champion Colt – Symbolik (Abu Shaklan x Magdalena)

Two liberty classes to music (liberty for 1minute 30 seconds and performance liberty 3 minutes) were held on the Saturday night. 3 judges (other than Judith Forbis ~ she needed a rest from a full day of judging to prepare for the next day and night finals judging commitments) were engaged to assess the individuals and their talents. Liberty champion sE, AK Talika Farad (Talika Fazir Ibn Shahmira dec’d x Talika Siridah dec’d) owned by Agecroft and performance (judged on 3 levels) was won admirably by Simeon Sorek (Anaza Bay Shahh x Simeon Sivan) and his team.

The liberty win for us was just so sweet and the prize money a bonus smile.gif I'd personally would like to thank our team who made the night so successful for us ~ the movers and shakers, along with the photgraphers / videoers. Thanks so much to the sponsor for the liberty class – Lexington Arabians owned by Lex Cowan and to the committee for running these classes smile.gif And a great thanks to all sponsors at the show generally, your generosity is much appreciated.

Hopefully others have the top five for each class and additional commentary smile.gif

It was a lovely show to attend and great to meet Judi and get my book signed.
Thanks also to Don & Carmel Rowley for showing me (and other people) their beautiful horses.
I would have loved to have put Stav's Sorsha in the car with me! I look forward to seeing photos of her foals later on.
Congratulations to all the winners.
There were some wonderful horses there, and I found the stallion class to be the strongest, which is quite rare with the females usually being stronger. However the supreme female is beautiful and I was lucky enough to see her in Canberra when she won at the affair.
Simeon Shavvot moves beautifully as did the El Halimaar son that Richard Sharman lead and another chesnut stallion by Shakla Khan.
Unfortunately I missed the Liberty, congratulations Diane and Joh Bailey/Mark Tarrant.
