After having the extreme pleasure of knowing this lovely Ruminaja Ali son so for many years I am very saddened to announce that I just found out a couple of days ago he died after getting to his new home in Europe. I do not know all the details but it is a great loss to his new owners and his formers owners and to all of us that new him..

I wish to join everyone to say good bye to Ali Zaar and express my condolences to his previous owner, Andy and Diane Hedges, and new owners.

P.S. The first dark grey mare is Ali Kateefa out of Higran by Seef.

My deepest condolences to the new owners, and to those who let him go to his new home. How tragic.

I'm quite depressed myself. A dear friend tried vainly to save her El Hadiyyah son but it was not to be. He was stricken with severe colic last Wednesday and fought valiantly to live, but she had to have him humanely euthanized.

She is like a mother who has just lost her son. The horse was everything to her.

Please keep Virginia in your thoughts and prayers.

Thank you!

My condolences to the new and previous owners of Ali Zaar, you must be devastated. I lost my old gelding at nearly 31 and was so upset, it is awful to lose a horse in his prime. Condolences also to the peson who lost her Al Hadiyyah son. The pain when we lose them is the price we pay for loving them so much. You have the consolation of knowing that they had a good life even if it was shorter than you would have liked; some poor horses have a terrible life and live for years suffering, I hope the thought of your horse's happy times will bring you some consolation.

Regards

I am so sorry to hear of the loss of Ali Zaar. I am a bit late at getting to this thread, and this is the first I had heard of his passing. He sired so many nice babies, and will be remembered through his get and contributions to the Arabian breed.

Who are his parents and who was the last owner? Who old was he and what was the reason for his unexpectd death?

Thanx

Ali Zaar, AHR*435739, 17 Mar 1989, is by Ruminaja Ali out of GLORIETA ZAAFIRA (Ansata Abu Nazeer X Anchor Hill Hamla). Anchor Hill Hamla went on to build a successful empire of her own. An exceptional pedigree of an exceptional stallion.

Last owner was Thomas Mayer. Previous owners were Andy and Diane Hedge of Pasadena, Texas. Reason of death is unknown.

Spiker,
This is a more recent picture of Ria than I have seen! She and my Nadira sure DO look like each other for cousins. My mare, who Nadira was out of, was Polish Crabbet...a grandaughter of Moonstone Bey V and El Azraff. So she, as opposed to Ria, is ER where Ria is SE. I can see Ria's mom in her, as I can see Nadira's mom in her. As Ali Zaar is the sire of Kateefa, your Ria has more Ali blood. The difference I see right off is that Ria has a tad shorter head and perhaps a more pronounced jibbah? With Cass as her dad, I would have expected this. Body wise, and colorwise, they are sure alike!

This is the picture of Nadira I sent to you after she had been out in the paddock for awhile! She was a bit sweaty here, but I am wondering if your Ria liked to do everything full steam ahead too? smile.gif

Hi Larry.
Yes Spiker's fily Ali Zaandria is "full steam ahead" She has just sold to a wonderful new owner in PA congrats Autumn!
Larry M.
blink.gif We had a friend come down to take some recent pictures of ours. I am only running "95" on this computer and the digital I looked at called for 98 and above to use the programs/software with their cameras? He tried Nadira on the *run* first. Arghh. I had a better head shot, but he cut the ears off.
At any rate, congratulations to Ria's new owner! i am sure she will be very pleased with her!

I am very sad to hear of this news. It is just aweful! I am sure they are all so disappointed. Andy hand picked my stallion, Thee Xtreme, from my herd of babes, and was instramental in getting us to do something with him. Upon my visits to Xtreme I always enjoyed seeing Ali Zaar. He was such a perfectly conformed specimen. The balance. The type. I have a yearling Ali Zaar colt whom I think will do him justice. He will keep Xtreme company when he comes home later in the year. The 2 pretty boys of Callegari.....
Take care, Candace
