<_< I am not sure, but I remember reading a story/myth about the owner of a bedouin mare who whent to war on his treasured arabian mare.
The owner was heavily wounded in battle and fell unconsious in the sadle. The brave mare, loving her owner dearly , reaslised that he was heavily wounded and fled the scene, safely carrying her wounded owner home. By the time she got back home, her shoulder was heavily stained with the blood of her owner. From then on, some horses decending from this particular mare would display the bloody shoulder mark in remembrance of this brave mare who saved her owner.
It is said that these horses with the bloody shoulder are particularly people orientated.
