The 2001 US Egyptian Event Champions, Farid Nile Moon and Desirree have both been sold to Shajar in the Middle East. It has been kept a secret until recently, as they were to be shown at the recent show in that country.

As the two horses are so attached to each other, the fact that the buyer wanted both horses was a deciding factor for Karen Henwood to let them go. It has been good for her farm and her business to sell the two Champions, to represent her breeding program overseas. Sufficient frozen semen has been held back for those mares booked for this year. We wish them luck in their new home, and congratulations to Karen for breeding such outstanding horses. Liz Salmon

I adored Farid Nile Moon for many years. Wish I had a pocket full of gold, I would have bought him. My best wishes to his new owner.

What a shame he has left the US. I had hoped to use him on my Ruminaja Ali daughter...the last one born in the world.

Roger, you should contact Karen, as she has frozen semen, she might be able to help you. She's a lovely person to deal with. Liz Salmon

I am sure he will be much missed in the United States sad.gif but he has my best wishes in his new home....It is great that the two horses can stay together.....I hope we hear more about this stallion in the years to come!

I would like to congratulate HH Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi of the United Arab Emirates on the purchase of Deserree and Farid Nile Moon.
These two Champion horses have always been together and truly love each other; much like the romantic Arab folklore legends, Antar and Abla.
Because His Highness Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi wanted both Farid Nile Moon and Deserree, we made the decision to let them go together. We knew they would be happy and travel well together. They were together in quarantine and on the long plane ride to Sarjah.
My best wishes for happiness and good luck go along with Deserree and Farid to His Highness and their new desert homeland.
Farid Nile Moon (Bay stallion born 5/15/97 by Anaza El Farid out of G.A. Moon Tajhalima) and Deserree (Grey mare born 5/31/94 by
Thee Desperado out of PH Maroufina) were 2001 Egyptian Event Supreme Champion Stallion and Mare.
I am very fortunate that Farid Nile Moon has left behind some very fine foals. His first daughter, Farid Nile Dream, bred by Judy Guess, was the highest point scoring female at The Egyptian Event 2002 as a yearling. She was Champion in a class of 32 fillys of 2001.
His latest foals were born on March 1, 2003 and March 2, 2003 at Sandybrook. One is a bay son who resembles his sire. He is out of the S.E., Al Khamsa mare, Abalissa by Ansata Abu Halim. The other is a chestnut filly out of Autumnn Moon, Farid's half sister X GA Moon Tajhalima.
Deserree left an exotic, 3 year old grey son by The United States National Champion of 2002, Dakar El Jamaal.
Sufficient frozen semen is available for all mares booked for 2003 in 2002.

Congratulations to Karen Henwood for all of her accomplishments in Farid Nile Moon!! We are absolutely thrilled!!

Congratulations Again, Susan! I am very happy for you. Can't wait to see the photos.
Congratulations to Judy Guess, too. On Sunday, a recip. mare had a bay filly by Farid Nile Moon out of her Anaza El Farid dtr. Then, this morning, another recip. mare had another bay filly for Judy, same sire and dam. The last 10 foals by Farid Nile Moon have been by Frozen Semen. Seven fillys and 3 colts.
There is a lovely chestnut colt at Talaria in Georgia by Farid Nile Moon out of the mare Alidaarlin. He has not yet been registered. Carol Rice has a bay colt and Naomi of Falgarbrook has a grey colt. These two are very young and unregistered also.

Congratulations to Judy Guess who had a banner past weekend and week! Not one, but two absolutely incredible fillies (a bay and a chestnut) by Farid Nile Moon x Bint Bint Haniya (Anaza El Farid x Bint El Mareekh)!!! I know you are as thrilled as with your blessings as I am with mine . . . looks like fortune has really smiled upon Texas this week. Just for the record, MB Maymaara will be bred back in 2006 for another piece of heaven! God bless Farid Nile Moon and your new angels.

Hi Susan,
Both of Judy's fillies are bay! One has a narrow blaze, the other has a very small star. Both have one hind sock, I think they are both on the left. Judy did take pictures, hopefully she will be able to post something soon. Both fillies are really nice, I saw them yesterday.
My colt also has a small white star. He has the longest legs I've ever seen on a foal! His legs were as long as his dam's, and the knee and hock joints were bigger than hers at birth! I am more than pleased with him, and hope to post pics here soon. I also will be breeding back to Farid Nile Moon!

I envy all of you that have/had (or are having) Farid Nile Moon babies. It is no secret that I am a great fan of this stallion and I had an opportunity to see him "live" at Nationals.

Cheers!

OOPPS! Sorry Judy . . . could have sworn that I heard chestnut somewhere! Must be the sleepless nights awaiting our new FNM foal, Maymaara Maysam AND preparing for The Event that is blocking memory at this point! Thanks Carol for catching me . . .
