Do you mean Naglaa born in Egypt, 1966, by Mamdouh out of Fadila (Sheikh el Arab) ?
She was imported by the Merz from Egypt, accompanied by her daughter Azeema, and used in the Om el Arab program as a straight egyptian line, but the line was abandoned by Om el Arab lateron.
Two of het daughters (Naglaana and Nashakla) were exported to the US.
In Europe, Naglaa has been mostly of influence via her daughter Shaklana.
Sigi Constantini provided me with original pictures, a couple of years ago, of Naglaa and some of her offspring. I could send them via e-mail or post them if you like... or you could ask (e-mail) Sigi herself for more information on Naglaa. After all, better to have information from first hand. Plus : Sigi is extreemly kind and always willing to share any onformation she has on horses she once bred or imported

Dear Sigrid, would you post the pictures? Thanks!

Enclosed is the (strongly recuded, I received the picture on a very big format) picture of Naglaa that Sigi Merz send me a couple of years ago.
Naglaa was really predominant in her offspring. Look at her hip, croupe and back... now look at the picture (second post) I took of a 3 year old great-granddaughter, last month : striking, isn't it ?

A picture of Naglaana, daughter of Naglaa, by Shaker, provided by Sigi Merz (showing Mr Merz, holding the mare)

Picture of Azeema (by Ibn Ghalabawi), daughter of Naglaa, imported with her dam from Egypt in 1971. She gave 7 offspring, of which most were colts. Her daughter Azeela (by Shaker) was quite influentual in German breeding. Again, this picture was furnished some years ago by Sigi.

Another daughter of Naglaa : Shaklana, by Shaker. Born in 1974, she died in 1986 at the El Naarah Stud of the family Freimuller.
The picture is only a snapshot that Mr Freimuller was so kind to send me, a couple of years ago, showing her in 1985 with her foal Shaakirah.

Best known ofspring of Shaklana is the mare Bint Shaklana by Malik. This mare was bred by Om el Arab, exported to Holland, lateron imported to Belgium, leased to France, and sold to Mrs Reiter (Germany), who bred her to some straight egyptians.
Headshot picture by Susanne Reiter.
The mare is nowadays standing in the south of Germany, together with her daughter.
Bint Shaklana is the dam of a lot of excellent ofspring, as NA Copala (dam of Franch reserve national champion Ekla de Gargassan), Shasoun (straight egyptian, reserve champion in Ströhen, sold to Belgium), Jaro d'Eversam (first premium stallion, on lease to Denmark).
Mrs Reiter retained one daughter of Bint Shaklana, by MA Alishah, called Alisha. She is an almost carbon copy of her dam and a SPEC-TA-CU-LAR mover !!

I saw Alisha last month, but the snapshots I took of this beautiful mare don't do her justice (her hindlegs moved to far under the body). Thus a picture of Alisha as a foal.... a picture that was published some years ago under the foal gallery of this forum.... by Suzanne Reiter.

Finally, to end the collection, another picture of a Bint Shaklana offspring : the third generation offspring of Naglaa : one clearly can still see the influence of Naglaa. Even the roaning, also to be seen with Naglaana, comes through !

And finally, to conclude the offspring, just a snapshot of another stallion out of Bint Shaklana, which I took a few weeks ago : it doesn't really shows the stallion, but I tought it was such a nice picture with the blosoms of the trees combining so beautifully with his color.
A beautiful sight, isn't it ? Surely taking in account that he shows very happy, after having covered 3 mares

Thanks a lot for all those pictures. This is the horse. She is no longer just a name in a pedigree. This forum is wonderful.
Does anybody have pictures of AK Nashakla?

AK Nashakla was called Nashakla in Germany.
Please e-mail Sigi of Om el Arab International. She could provide you with information.
