Tashwai,

The Nile Family from Ansata is one of their most illustrious breeding groups, second only to the Bukra family there. Ansata Nile Jewel was a grey mare foaled in 1970, sired by *Morafic out of the *Ansata Ibn Halima/Fa-Habba mare, Falima. She was sold at the age of six to the Hacklanders in Michigan where she lived for the duration of her breeding career. The Forbes bred three daughters out of Nile Jewel before she was sold. They were sired by *Ansata El Wazir, Ansata Shah Zaman and Ansata Ibn Sudan. The Ansata Ibn Sudan daughter was Ansata Nile Gift, a grey mare foaled in 1976.

Back to Ansata Nile Jewel. She produced 9 foals for the Hacklanders, all I believe were SE. The best known of the foals were Hadaya Nnefertiti (by *Ramses Fayek), who produced Hadaya Nmerytaten (by Ansata Halim Bey). Hadaya Nmerytaten produced three well known siblings by Imperial Imdal; Hadaya El Tareef, a US and Canadian Top Ten Stallion as well as a nationals winner in AOTH halter, and the full sisters Hadaya Jehan, who was exported to Kuwait and Hadaya Imdala, who was exported to Saudi Arabia. Ansata Nile Jewel also produced the breeding stallions; Nile Heir (by *Hatef), Hadaya N Courtier (by Keyaf) and Hadaya Eindafa (by Ansata Halim Bey) who all sired a number of foals as breeding stallions. One of my favorite Ansata El Nisr sons, Nisrs Nile Legend, is out of the Ansata Nile Jewel/Ansata Shah Zaman daughter, Ansata Nile Moon.

Ansata Nile Moon, as I mentioned above, was bred by the Forbes and also sold to Hacklanders where she produced 4 foals, prior to going to Leonor Romney's Summerset Farms in California for her final two foals. Both of the foals that Mrs. Romney is listed as the breeder of, the stallion Nile Bequest (by El Majiid) and Ansata White Nile (by Prince Fa Moniet), were exported. Nile Bequest went to the United Kingdom as a yearling and Ansata White Nile went to Kuwait as an 8 year old in 1998. My guess is Ansata leased Ansata Nile Moon from Mrs. Romney's estate as she passed away in the mid 1990's I believe? Before being exported, Ansata is listed as having been the breeder of 3 foals out of her, all sired by Ansata Hejazi. The stallion, Ansata Nile Echo, was exported to Qatar. His full sisters, Ansata Nile Pearl and Wafaa ElKuwait, were both exported to the Middle East as well but their countries of destination aren't listed. Hope this helps.

Zumindest von Ansata White Nile müsste ich noch ein paar Fotos haben,
die wir von ihr auf Ansata geschossen haben.
Eine tolle Stute - hervorragend im Typ und sehr gute Bewegungen.
Hab' mir damals folgendes notiert (1993):
substanzvoll, sehr schöne starke Oberlinie mit hervorragender Kruppe,
gut gewinkelte Hinterhand, sehr gut gelagerte Schulter, klar ausgeprägte Gelenke.
Sehr gute Gurtentiefe, breite Brust. In der Bewegung wenig Aufrichtung,
aber taktrein und schwungvoller Trab;
guter Schritt.

gbfahne.gif Thank you for the pictures, nile pearl is a fullsister of nile echo, she is very pretty.

If you have access to issues of the Arabian Horse World, Ansata Nile Jewel is pictured in the following issues:

June 1980 Page 420 ( A photo of her head)
April 1975 Page 154 ( A photo of her head when she was a foal)

I hope this helps

Also Ansata Nile Jewel is pictured in the Reference Handbook of Straight Egyptian Horses Volume III on page 231.

I like this family of horses very much and wanted to bring the conversaton forward. The cross of Ansata Hejazi with Ansata White Nile has produced some nice horses..

I saw Ansata Nile Echo some years ago in Qatar, and he was my favorite horse. I like such powerfull horses.

@ Ralph:
Thank you for your interesting link.

Why're the todays breeders don't create new Babson/Ansata crosses? The horses of both lines are available. I'm sure this would work very well today!!!

Click to view attachmentClick to view attachmentClick to view attachment Im a huge fan of the Nile family and agree, it has produced some amazing, althletic horses with wonderful movement! Im a bit biased as my young stallion, Zandai Nile Zavon, is of this family and looks the part I think! His sire Zandai Ibn Omar (Ansata Omar Halim x Ansata Dia Halima) is sired by Ansata Halim Shah's full brother and his dam is a full sister in blood to the fantastic Ansata Samantha.

Zandai Nile Zavon's dam is a daughter of the wonderful Imperial Mistry (Mosry x Ansata Nile Mist) he is a very typey, athletic, with wonderful movement. I am always looking for horses of the Nile family to add to my photo collection....a lovely family and thrilled to have a member as my family.

Dear Gabriele,

maybe you have to take a look to the Authentic Arabian Bloodstock II , the last book ( the golden one ) of Judith Forbis. Here there are the pictures of these mares.
