Ansata Al Murtajiz
at home

Al Murtajiz (Ansata Hejazi x Ansata Samsara) was born to play a major role in the breeding program of Ezzain Arabians. I started thinking to be active in the world of Arabians sometimes in 1994. Many ideas were contemplated and hastily executed, but that is the price of inexperience. I visited Egypt, Bahrain, Syria and eventually many countries of Europe to try buying horses to start a breeding program. My goal was to breed a nice Arabian horse regardless of new type names (such as straight Egyptian, Russian, Polish Spanish or others). Later I concentrated on straight Egyptians because it is the closest to the Bedouin horse - our horse.

In travelling Europe, I saw some text-type mares and this happened to be Ansata bred horses. I was so excited, they mesmerized and dazzled me. So, naturally, I decided to go to the person behind these wonderful mares. At the end of April 1997 I travelled together with my son Jaber to Mena (Arkansas), where we were met by a charming and knowledgeable couple (Mr. & Mrs. Forbis) and enjoyed their great hospitality.

The King looks for his mares...

We were taken around the legendary Ansata farm to acquaint ourselves with the farm and the horses. While touring, Jaber was taken by a colt that looked him straight in the eye with two large black eyes. While I was talking with Mrs. Forbis he immediately interrupted us, "I think this is our future stallion to be". I named him Al Murtajiz, meaning "The Poet Warrior" which is also the name of one of the prophet's, Piece be upon him and his family, war horses. He looked so beautiful, powerful, and above all, enjoyed a great charisma. He won our hearts without a battle. God destined him to be ours without any prior plan. Matter of fact, he was not even on the list of horses to be shown. Two other fillies were bought as well but eventually were sold to other Kuwaiti breeders. Later on, one more filly was added. She was no other but the full sister of Al Murtajiz. Suleyma was her name. Destiny has it that only two Ansata horses are living at Ezzain Arabians today.

Nefissa Ezzain (Ansata Almurtajiz x NK Jurie)

Al Murtajiz matured into a very correct and handsome stallion with a pair of eyes that are so big and beautiful that overtakes anyone. He was bred to different mares straight and none straight, leaving a mark on each and everyone of them. He added to all of them beauty, correctness and absolute refinement and a bundle of pure Arabian type.
He is working wonderfully with the group of horses that were purchased from my dearest friend Dr. Hans Nagel - these mares are my pride and joy. Ten marvels, to be exact, personifying the Arabian type in its truest value and meaning. Not all of them were bred to him, but the ones bred produced the best babies around.

Worthy of noting, Al Murtajiz was bred to the World Champion Mare, Psyche Amber Gem, and produced a copy of Mama that I think is even better. He was also bred to Psyche's half sister, LC Primavera and made two outstanding colts that in my humble opinion can easily overtake many world champions.

Look at his get and tell me if you think otherwise. No doubt that me and my family and the staff that take care of Al Murtajiz are very proud and content. Thank you God for your gracious gift and may God give all of you who care about Arabian horses prosperity and the best of luck!
