Every year, Egyptian Arabian breeders across the globe join together for a week long celebration of the Egyptian Arabian horse. They come from near and far in all shapes and sizes to enjoy the many activities surrounding breeding one of the worlds most treasured creatures. Pictured below are the children of trainer Gary McDonald who received top honors in the Junior Handler classes. Obviously
the future of our breed is in good hands!
The annual Pyramid Society Member meeting is a great place for all members to gather and discuss the
accomplishments and goals for the new year. This year several new and exciting programs were discussed for
next year which focus on expanding membership and promotion of the SE horse.
Having fun and enjoying the comraderie of friends is a priority at the Event! Pictured below (left to right) is Kati Hardwick of Talaria Farms, Simeon Stud owner Marion Richmond, International Equine Judge
and Consultant - Liz Salmon, Pyramid Society Board Members Anne-Louise Toner and Allison Mehta, and
Founder of Sumerlan Arabians Susan Gilbert. This group just finished celebrating the birthdays of Anne- Louise
Toner and Marion Richmond.

Situated in the beautiful Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, KY, the "Event" has come to be known as a place to meet
fellow breeders from around the world who share a common dream - to breed the ideal arabian horse. By sharing ideas, breeding
philosophies and techniques and the results of their programs, breeders come away with much to consider
as they refine their programs. Pictured below is Jennie Amer of Deleware, USA.
There were many beautiful horses shown at this year's Egyptian Event...
Some of the standouts included
the beautiful Ansata Sinan son TS Atlanta pictured below and shown by Joe Polo... This gorgeous colt has it all including type, trot and
attitude. He was second in his class of 2 year old futurity colts.
They say the Event is a "Show Like No Other", and that it is... Pictured below is Steve Dady with the winner of the Futurity Straight Egyptian Colts, 2 Year Old -
Imperial Kagaan...
Robin Hopkinson of Brookville Arabians presented the gorgeous EAS Ali Asaraah and is owned by David Myers. This was certainly
a very tough colt class.
Sandro Pinha had a lovely black colt, Mirajh RCA owned by Ahmad Amer.
Royal Spirit KA owned by Kehilan Arabians and shown by Terry Holmes was Top 10 in the Two Year Old Futurity. This was a very exotic colt
full of snort and blow. He was actually purchased just prior to the class and will be leaving for the Middle East shortly.
Of course there is Makhiavelli KA... who we have watched grow up on StraightEgyptians.com -
proudly bred by our own Nancy Pierce...
The Amateur handlers were out in full force this year. Pictured below is Bob Miars of Miars Arabians with his
Champion EBC Yearling Colt and then with his Top 5 EBC filly. Now that
is what I call a great day!

And here is Henry Metz at the lead...
Here are two of the contenders in the EBC class...
Of course after all that showing, it is time to PARTY!!! Below are some of the Egyptian Breeders celebrating another great day of fun.

In memory of Tom McNair - one of the greatest horsemen of our times, a celebration of Tom's life and contribution was organized. Pictured below are Rita McNair and her daughter Maggie.
Steve Diamond was the Emcee for the McNair celebration - he presented horses from the McNair and Gleannloch programs.
Below is Steve presenting the 100% Gleanloch bred stallion Amiin who is a Top 10 Halter Stallion as well as a Regional Top 5 working cow horse. Amiin is a true testament to the versatility of the SE horse.

This year there was a very exciting addition to the Egyptian Event - "The Jewel of the Nile Sale". There were many gorgeous colts and fillies for sale. Pictured below are several of the Jewel of the Nile offerings...

Here are some of the potential buyers - sharing notes, talking with breeders and enjoying the sale!
In the end - new friendships were made, new relationships forged, breeding ideas are shared and the Egyptian Event is once again - A Celebration to Remember...
