Imperial Imdal (Ansata Imperial x Dalia)

2M Arabians

"Imperial Egyptian Stud features an unusual breeding itinerary. Their breeding strategy has never been focused on inbreeding - one of the greatest challenges. Yet breeders all around the world are talking about a particular 'Imperial type'. This means a real horse with most probably the best body, legs, neck, athletic ability, type and balance you can find in Egyptian breeding to date. These horses look you in the eyes and you immediately understand the meaning of class, refinement and cleverness.

Imperial Pharaj
(Imperial Imdal x Imperial Phanadah)

"Imperial Pharaj (Imperial Imdal x Imperial Phanadah) was the catalyst of our breeding program at 2M Arabians. He is known for his extreme elegance, refinement and type – he is a perfect representative of the Dahman Shawan strain. Leggy and tall (15.3 hh), Imperial Pharaj possesses superb movement. His fountain-like, arched neck ends in a very clean throatlatch. He still shows a table top topline at sixteen years of age. He usually passes on this points to his progeny. His babies have great personality and the sweetest of temperament. Above all, with a sire like Imperial Imdal and a dam like Imperial Phanadah (Ibn Moniet El Nefous x Pharrah) he combines two of the world's most sought after pedigrees.

"Imperial Pharaj is known for his extreme elegance,
refinement and type!"

"For decades we have been observing Imperial Egyptian Stud's road of success and Babara Griffith's talent is obviously unique: For the choices she made about the horses she has assembled and bred; for the managers she trusted, Eileen and then Beverly; and for the breeding strategies she designed.
Amongst all the famous horses from Imperial Egyptian Stud, the collection of titles won from Imperial Imdal to Imperial Baarez has probably established an "Imperial Precedence" in the Pantheon of the mystical staight Egyptian breeders.
We have learnt so much from Mrs. Griffith, her staff and her horses – they are our everlasting inspiration.“

World Champion Mare Loubna (Imperial Imdal x AK Latifa)

AJMAN STUD

One of the brightest stars on the firmament of Ajman Stud is the famous mare Loubna (Imperial Imdal x Imperial Kalatifa by Imperial Al Kamar). Over the years Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman, has assembled a group of outstanding stallions and mares but even among this priceless collection Loubna stands out. Though bred by Ariela Arabians in Israel, Loubna’s pedigree is „pure Imperial“. You will hardly find another straight Egyptian mare in the world today with as many champinships to her credit as Loubna. She was 2003 Egyptian Event Europe Reserve Champion Mare, 2004 World Champion Mare, 2006 European Champion Mare and 2006 Reserve World Champion Mare. Her beauty won her the hearts of the judges and spectators alike but it is her sweet disposition which makes Loubna one of the Sheikh’s favourite mares.

AL ATIQ ARABIANS

"My first straight Egyptian mare was an Imperial Madheen daughter bred by Barbara Griffith, out of the beautiful El Halimaar daughter, Maar Bilahh. Imperial Mahzeera not only served as a foundation broodmare but also as my riding horse for several years, while patiently tolerating her double duties as the children's favourite 'pony ride’ mount. We bred her to Imperial al Kamar for a beautiful filly, Maddie, who has her sire's funny personality and charm, and although I was convinced to sell Mahzeera last year, Maddie and Mahzeera's last daughter, Melissa, will stay on our farm.

"Imperial Safillla (Ibn Safinaz x Imperial Mistilll) is convinced that the world
exists solely to revolve around her..."

"The combination of consistent, elegant Arabian type, excellent conformation and movement, and the kind, willing temperament that is exhibited by the horses from Imperial convinced me that these were the foundations I hoped to build my own breeding program upon, and so Imperial Safillla, Imperial Orianah and Imperial Phandala came to join us. Imperial Safillla is a multiple champion show mare, both on the open show circuit and at the Egyptian Event. A daughter of Imperial's beautiful Imperial Mistilll and the athletic EAO import, Ibn Safinaz, she is a most imperious character, convinced that the world exists solely to revolve around her, and completely the horse of my heart.
Orianah, a Class A champion show mare herself, is probably best known as the dam of Imperial Madori, owned by Omar Sakr and the sire of multiple international champions. Phandala (by Imperial Imdal), although again a multiple champion show mare, is not as well known as her beautiful sisters Imperial Imphayana, Imperial Pharida and Imperial Phanilah, all out of the beautiful Pharrah daughter, Imperial Phanadah, but is just as lovely and
our most recent addition. Safillla, Orianah and Phandala were acquired as older mares, and all of them are equally treasured. They are irreplaceable, the living, beautiful embodiment of the history of the breed and every day as I walk the paddocks to feed and spend time with my 'old ladies' I feel so honoured to have such beauties on my farm.

Imperial Orianah (Orashan x Imperial BtFawkia) is best known as the dam
of champion sire Imperial Madori

"John Quincy Adams wrote, 'If your actions inspire other to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader'. From the dreams inspired by their exquisitely beautiful horses, impeccably turned out and shown to International Championships across the globe, to the seminars hosted in the most picture-perfect story book surroundings, and the foundation stock that have brought dreams to reality and inspired future generations and new breeders for so many farms around the world: Imperial Egyptian Stud has proven to be a true leader of the Egyptian Arabian horse world. That they have done so with grace, dignity and good humour is a reflection on the character of both Barbara Griffith and the people she attracts to work with her. Beverly Sziraky, Farm Manager, and John Foster, Breeding Manager are the epitome of graciousness, and their willingness to share so freely of their knowledge and experience has proven absolutely invaluable to so many other breeders and horse owners lucky enough to have had contact with them. I am truly blessed to be one of those fortunate enough to have known, loved and been inspired by the horses and people of Imperial.“

AL SHAQAB STUD

The Imperial blood runs deep in the straight Egyptian breeding program of Al Shaqab Stud in Qatar. In 1993 they purchased their first straight Egyptian horses, among them several daughters of Ansata Imperial like Imperial Sharah (x Serenity Shahra), Imperial Imalana (x Amalaa) and the full sisters Imperial Impharida and Imperial Phanilah (x Imperial Phanadah). "My favourite mare of the very many gorgeous mares at Al Shaqab in Qatar was Imperial Shahra," said successful trainer and breeder Emma Maxwell from Great Britain after her first visit to Qatar.

However, for many the beautiful fleabitten grey Imperial Phanilah was the queen of Al Shaqab. Prior to her purchase she already had won many championships in the United States and Europe. As a two year old she was named Reserve Junior World Champion Filly at the 1986 Salon du Cheval in France and in 1987 she won U.S. National Top Ten Futurity Filly honors. Under the Al Shaqab flag she was shown at several different shows in the Middle East and won many a championship. In 1994 Imperial Phanilah triumphantly returned to the Salon du Cheval and conquered Paris by storm: She was named World Senior Champion Mare by unanimous decision of the judges.

Her gift to Al Shaqab was her refined daughter Amirat Al Shaqab (by Al Adeed Al Shaqab) who followed in her dam’s hoofprints and won multiple championships as well.
Over the last years Imperial Phanilah could not produce any more foals and was retired. She roamed free around the farm and enjoyed her life. At the beginning of 2007 she was sent to the US for embryo transfer but passed away shortly thereafter. Her last foal will be born next year.

Kamasayyah won countless championships for Al Shaqab in the Middle East show circuit and is probably Imperial Al Kamar’s winningest daughter. Her half brother Al Adeed Al Shaqab (Ansata Halim Shah x Sundar Alisayyah) certainly needs no introduction. The World Champion Stallion, Egyptian Event Supreme Champion Stallion and Qatar International Champion Stallion is without any doubt one of the leading straight Egyptian stallions in the world today.

Ariela Arabian Stud's foundation mare AK Latifa (Ibn Moniet El Nefous x Siralima)

ARIELA ARABIANS

"We purchased the mare AK Latifa (Ibn Moniet el Nefous x Siralima by Ansata Ibn Halima) from Imperial Egyptian Stud. The breeding program at Ariela has been largely based on Latifa's foals – all of them were sired by stallions bred at Imperial.
AK Latifa is the dam of the following get: Imperial Kalatifa (by Imperial Al Kamar), Israeli National Champion Colt Imperial Latif (by Imperial Al Kamar), Laheeb (by Imperial Imdal), and Israeli National Champion Stallion Labib (by Imperial Imdal).

"Loubna was World Champion mare in 2004. Her full sister Luiba prefers a more quiet lifestyle and is one of our key broodmares. She was shown in Israel and was named National Champion Filly and some years later National Champion Mare. Their three-quarter sister Latifah AA by Al Maraam (by Imperial Imdal) is both a successful show horse and promising broodmare.

"Laheeb (Imperial Imdal x AK Latifa) is a multi champion on three continents and the first straight Egyptian stallion to be used by the two Polish National Studs. He has numerous champion get worldwide, including the 2006 World Champion Stallion Al Lahab, bred by our farm. His Polish bred daughter Emira was named All Nations Cup Junior Champion Filly, twice Polish National Champion, and European Reserve Junior Champion Filly. A second Polish-bred daughter, Galilea, was Polish National Champion Mare and 2005 World Champion Mare at Paris.

Al Hadiyah AA (Laheeb x The Vision HG), full brother
to the famous Al Lahab, will come to Europe in 2008

"The extremely promising colt Al Hadiyah AA, full brother to Al Lahab, has been undefeated the four times he was shown in Israel. Al Hadiyah AA will be standing in Europe in 2008. His sire Laheeb was the first straight Egyptian Arabian stallion in history to be leased by a Polish National stud. Mr. Jerzy Bialobok, stud manager of Poland's Michalow Stud was so impressed with the get Laheeb left during his first stay in Poland that he made a special request to lease Laheeb after the horse finishes breeding committments in North America. Laheeb will be returning to Poland in the beginning of 2008 for one more breeding season.

"We leased Imperial Imdal (Ansata Imperial x Dalia) from his American owner Barbara Vallée in 1995 and imported him to our farm in Israel where he stood for three seasons and sired 57 foals. Fate was extremely kind, for Imdal was the perfect horse at the perfect time for both our own breeding program and for the entire Israeli Arabian herd. Imdal passed on his unmistakable quality, nobility, and type so consistently that he is largely responsible for creating the modern Israeli Arabian show horse and unifying the look and style of the modern Israeli Arabian. This unprecedented legacy will be continued by his excellent Israeli bred sons and daughters and their future get. Certainly Imperial Imdal's influence is felt throughout the world through many excellent sons and grandsons bred at Imperial. But personally, I think that in retrospect, what Imdal did for the Arabian horse in Israel is comparable to what Nazeer accomplished in Egypt or Aswan meant for Russia."

FRIEDMANN ARABIANS

The stallion Al Lahab (Laheeb x The Vision HG) is more like a sensation than just a horse! Born in Israel at Ariela Arabians in 1999, this grandson of Imperial Imdal is at home with the Friedmann family in Germany. He is the most successful straight Egyptian stallion in the showring today with championships won on three different continents! He was shown to National Foal Champion before leaving Israel and ever since he stood in the winners circle. In 2006 alone he was named Supreme Champion Stallion of the Egyptian Event in Kentucky/USA, Senior World Champion Stallion in Paris/France, Senior Champion Stallion at the All Nations Cup in Aachen/Germany and Senior Champion Stallion at the International A Shows in Borgloon/Belgium and Towerlands/Great Britain. Last month he was invited to participate at the International Show in Dubai where he won the Senior Championship and the Dubai Gold Cup and trotted away with a purse of $100,000!

Showring success is certainly nice but at the end of the day every stallion is measured by the quality of his get. Al Lahab excells in the breeding shed as well: Though still relatively young, his progeny already has collected countless international championships. His young son El Sid (x Swana by Kubinec) won a "Gold" award at the annual German Stallion Show in 2005 and his daughter Mahala was crowned National Champion Mare of Egypt.
Al Lahab was on lease to Om El Arab International in the USA for two years and has left two very promising foal crops. Some of his US bred foals are already on their way to the Middlle East.
Al Lahab’s owner Inge Friedmann has a special relationship with him and loves to sit in his stall and talk to him. Of course she is proud when her boy wins a championship title at a prestigious show but nothing can beet the feeling when she shares some quiet moments with him at home. "His wonderful character is second to none," she says. "Al Lahab’s inner beauty is his greatest asset!"

LOTUS BLOODSTOCK

“Lotus Bloodstock was very pleased to be able to acquire MB Mistaz, bred by Imperial Egyptian Stud. Sired by the US Top Ten stallion Ibn Safinaz, he is out of the influential broodmare Imperial Mistilll by Jamil. Regretfully Mistaz did not have the opportunity to be shown under saddle, but ably represented his family in halter with wins including US Top Ten Futurity colt, Class A Halter Champion Stallion, and Egyptian Event Reserve Junior Champion colt.

MB Mistaz shows off his gorgeous neck

"Mistaz is a tall, yet refined horse, with a gorgeous neck and shoulder. Just standing he is a classic stallion, but he is truly beautiful in motion, with a spectacular trot and breathtaking suspension. Mistaz also has a terrific personality and the manager of the farm where he resides, Bryon Ruebens, has commented that he is reminiscent of several of the early Egyptian imports to the United States which could show successfully in halter, but also had the athletic ability to compete in several performance categories.

In addition to MB Mistaz, Lotus Bloodstock also features additional Imperial influence with several daughters of BKA Imeer. Although not bred by Imperial, he was sired by Ansata Imperial and out of Imperial Mistic. After having seen many generations of straight Egyptian Arabians in the United States it is obvious that the Imperial influence will carry on to many generations, reflecting this program’s artistic sense in breeding beautiful and authentic Arabian horses.”

Rabab Stud in Egypt is the home of many horses featuring the bloodlines of Imperial. Their latest addition to their stallion roster is the exotic Imperial Mashhar son Bouznika (x Mayyat by Shaikh Al Badi) who was acquired in Germany. Named for the Royal Moroccan Stables where he was born, Bouznika is a grandson of the influential stallion Imperial Madheen. He is a Hadban Enzahi in strain, tracing in tail female line to Yosreia. The black Bouznika is the pride of his owner, Sheikh Khaled Bin Laden who established his studfarm in the early eighties. Bouznika’s first foals born in Egypt already have arrived and the Sheikh's expectations were more than exceeded.

However, Rabab Stud’s most prominent stallion today is without any doubt the bay Imperial Madori son Kenz Noor (x Naksh El Koloob Noor by Ibn Nazic) who is currently with Michael Byatt in the United States where he already has won his first championship. Before leavin Egypt, Kenz Noor was brought into show condition by riding him through the desert. "I wanted to send Kenz Noor to the United States as an ambassador not only for our farm but for Egypt as well," says Sheikh Khaled Bin Laden. The flamboyant and masculine stallion is well-received by breeders in the United States and bred a full book of mares. The extremely flashy stallion will be presented at the Egyptian Event in Lexington in June.

At home in Egypt the Imperial Madori grandson Ibn El Basha is siring excellent foals for Rabab Stud. His sire, the chestnut El Basha Sakr (Imperial Madori x Alidarra), has left Egypt for Saudi but his influence at Rabab Stud is stongly felt. His tall and statuesque son Ibn El Basha out of the black Nawader (by Hafeed Anter) is famous for his commanding presence and his short, delicately chiseled head which won him the "most classic head" award at the Egyptian National Show last year. His foals at Rabab Stud inherited his classic beauty along with his bold movement and substantial body. His chestnut daughter Hababa Hamdan (x Nawwaret Hamdan by Imperial Madori), linebred to Imperial Madheen, is a superior, show quality mare with type, correct conformation and an exceptional, airy trot with high hock and knee action. Her younger black full sister Layaly Al Najdiah is equally impressive to watch when she literally flies through her paddock. Their half brother Morgan Al Najdiah (Ibn El Basha x Bardeya), a dark, grey three year-old colt is one of the rising stars of Rabab Stud. He was named Reserve Junior Champion Colt his first time out at the EAO Show in 2005. All three horses are living proof of Ibn El Basha’s prepotency as a sire.

Relatively new to Al Rabab’s broodmare band, the grey Imperial Safama (Ibn Safinaz x Imperial Imwasama by Ansata Imperial) brings back to Egypt the old bloodlines of El Ameera (Nazeer x Zaafarana), to whome she traces in tail female line. Not extreme in the head but with a pleasing type and and a free way of moving, Imperial Safama is a typical daughter of her sire Ibn Safinaz. She is a proven broodmare who gave birth to some exceptional daughters of Imperial Baarez. Time will tell if she will fit into the Rabab breeding program.

Mahala (Al Lahab x Mahasin II), National Champion Mare of Egypt

A great-granddaughter of Imperial Imdal, the mare Mahala (Al Lahab x Mahasin) is one of Sheikh Kahled’s favourite horses. Imperial ImMahal (Ansata Imperial x Malekat El Gamal)
is on his way to Simeon Stud

SIMEON STUD

"I am so lucky to have two magnificent Imperial 'old boys'. One of which I have not used but while I type with my one finger he is being bred to some exceptional mares before he leaves for his journey home. His name is Imperial Im Mahal by Ansata Imperial (sire of Imperial Imdal) out of the marvellous mare Malekat El Gamal - I just can't keep away from Albadeia horses! Malekat is the dam of Ameer Albadeia, owned before he died by Sheikh Abdulaziz of Qatar.
From what I could see, Mahal gives huge black eyes and tiny ears with a lovely long sloping shoulder. The farrier in Canada said that he had not seen such good feet and legs for 30 years. Im Mahal also has a long dock and very good movement. He had been a cutting horse in his youth.
Jennifer Parsons and I found him and he was in such tragic condition that I walked away – but Mahal haunted me. We did not know if he would survive the truck ride to the clinic in Toronto. He did, had half an inch cut from one side of his teeth and put on 300 pounds. He loves mares, his semen is good and he thinks heaven has arrived. He is one tough guy with Arabian spirit!

"The second Imperial stallion that is at Simeon Stud is our treasured Imperial Madaar by Imperial Madheen out of the legendary Ansata Nile Mist. Madaar has won all the major shows in Australia under different international judges. We have four daughters from this magnificent stallion and they in turn breed on wonderfully. We hope to keep a few more in the future. Madaar is a very tall (15.3 hh) and upright horse but not in the least coarse, with a long fine neck and black skin. He adds stretch and smoothness to his babies and also his darling temperament. We can put two-year-old children on his back, even during the breeding season. He just loves the attention. Madaar is our pride and joy."

SILVER MAPLE FARM

"Silver Maple Farm owners Henry and Christie Metz chose Ansata Nile Pharaoh (Ansata Iemhotep x Ansata Misty Nile) because of his beauty, athleticism and strength of pedigree. This stallion represents an ideal blend of Ansata and Imperial bloodlines. His granddam, Imperial Impress was bred by Imperial, yet traces to Ansata Nile Mist, who became an important foundation mare for Imperial and traces to the famous 'Nile' family of Ansata. This family has tremendous breeding strength and has been successful for many breeding programs around the world.

In the past, we have bred to Imperial Baarez (I believe we were his first outside breeding when he stood at public stud) and have bred to Imperial Al Kamar.

We have found Imperial to be a reliable source of beauty, type and athletic ability. Our Asami Ruuh is an excellent example. "Zajaddi Egyptian Arabians, located in Central AR is home to two mares with Imperial bloodlines, Imperial Sabreia (Imperial Saheeb x Imperial Kameoh by Imperial Al Kamar) and Baariyah (Imperial Baarez x Azaamah by Tammen). Another mare of significance in our programme is our Tammen daughter Azaamah (Tammen x Aleeyah by Ibn Morafic), dam of five foals by Imperial Baarez.

Azaamah (by Tammen) is the dam of five foals by Imperial Baarez

"In 2000 we made the decision to breed Azaamah to Imperial Baarez as he possessed all the traits we desired in a breeding stallion, and we knew the reputation of Imperial Egyptian Stud and their history of producing fine athletic horses with ideal type and temperament. Azaamah produced a fabulous filly in 2001 that absolutely exceeded our every expectation. We immediately made the decision to breed her back to Baarez and learned that we were purchasing one of the last breedings available as his book was to be closed to public stud.
Since then, Azaamah has produced five foals by Baarez, three of which were bred by Zajaddi: Barizzah, Baariyah and Baarafic; and two were bred by Imperial, Imperial Beveerah and Imperial Baarico.

Barizzah is a Class A Supreme Show Champion in AR and won Top Five Futurity honors at the 2003 Egyptian Event for her owners Lee & Janel Brookshire. Baariyah is also a local show winner in AR and 2005 Egyptian Event Top Five Futurity winner, owned by Zajaddi Egyptian Arabians. Younger brother Baarafic, exported to Australia and owned by Ron & Lorraine Bond of Chaswyck Stud, Queensland, won Supreme Champion at his first show 'down under' with Liz Salmon judging in 2006.

Baariyah (by Imperial Baarez)

Azaamah was on lease to Imperial Egyptian stud for two years, with the hopes of producing a top quality filly for their breeding program. Imperial Beveerah, named after Beverly Sziraky, was foaled in 2005 and proved to be an exceptional show filly, unanimously winning Yearling Futurity Champion for Imperial Egyptian Stud at the 2006 Egyptian Event. She now resides in Belgium with her new owners Pierre and Mary Anne Groenen of Prestige Straight Egyptians was named Junior Champion Filly at the Italian Egyptian Event in April.
We look forward to Azaamah’s next foal by Baarez, due in July 2007 and hope we are fortunate enough to welcome another outstanding filly like Beveerah.

Imperial Sabreia (Imperial Saheeb x Imperial Kameoh)

"Imperial Sabreia (out of Imperial Kameoh by Imperial Al Kamar) is one of only 6 foals sired by Imperial Saheeb (Ibn Safinez x MB Mazaraa by Imperial Madheen). She is a welcomed addition to our breeding program and is absolutely one of the most people friendly horses and a family favorite. She is a Regional Sweepstakes Top Ten winner and plans are to breed her to Kenz Noor (Imperial Madori x Naksh El Koloob Noor) this year. We feel honored to have one of the few offspring by Imperial Saheeb who was to replace his sire Ibn Safinez. Saheeb passed away too young but was a stunning young stallion, with a beautiful face and huge, dark eyes. Sabreia resembles her sire with a beautiful dished face, silver dappled coat with black points, and big, dark eyes. She is a very good mover and we expect she will be a good producer for us.

Baariyah (Imperial Baarez x Azaamah) is a wonderful young mare who we retained for our breeding program. In a well thought out, carefully planned breeding for type, movement and temperament, she is carrying her first foal by Kenz Noor, due in June. She has a very typey head and probably the best temperament of any horse we’ve bred. We expect she’ll follow in the footsteps of her dam and will out produce herself.

Imperial Egyptian Stud has earned a reputation in the industry for breeding the finest Straight Egyptian breeding stock by stallions who are shown in halter and a suitable performance discipline, proving they are not only beautiful and conformationally correct, but also that they are fine athletes with very good minds.
We feel honored to have been clients of this outstanding breeding farm and have thoroughly enjoyed working with them over the years. They were always available to answer questions and accommodate us in any way.
We looked forward to visiting the farm every summer when we returned home to Maryland to take our boys to baseball camp and to visit family.

Thank you Barbara, John, Beverly, Sydney and the staff at Imperial for taking care of Azaamah for us when she was in your care, and for your help, advice, support and for breeding and sharing your finest Straight Egyptian Arabians for the world to enjoy.“
