El Thay Malikh
(Madkour I x El Thay Bint
As one of the last sons of the world-class sire Madkour I (who produced US National Top Ten Stallion Jamil), El Thay Malikh holds a special place in the heart of his breeder and owner, Cornelia Tauschke of El Thayeba Stud in Germany. He epitomizes Arabian type, with an adorable face and those tiny ears, a high set, well-shaped, refined neck, and a strong, short back and natural (!) high tail carriage. Whether you see Malikh close up or far away you can tell without a doubt he is an Arabian. And his first foals are living proof that he is prepotent for these qualities. El Thay Malikh's first appearance in the show ring took place in March 2000: He was Senior Champion and Reserve Overall Champion of Germany's Stallion Show at Aachen. Not a bad beginning!
to the great matriarch Moheba (half sister to the incomparable Ansata Ibn
Halima), El Thay Malikh is one of those extremely rare individuals in the
world today that trace in both sides of their pedigree to this foundation
mare. That's the reason why he embodies the specific "Moheba
look". El Thay Malikh resembles the type and body of his sire, Madkour
I (Hadban Enzahi x Moheba II). His dam El Thay Bint Mofeedah (El Thay Ibn
Halim Shah x Mofeedah by Hadban Enzahi), who now resides in Kuwait, thrown
in her refinement and excellent movement. The result is the successful combination
El Thay Malikh is beautiful – inside and outside. He has a very good disposition yet he can go from being a laid-back horse in his stall to an eye-catching and animated lion in a matter of seconds – you just have to show him one of his mares! The powerful and fiery way he moves is such a contrast to the quiet and gentle horse he is. Under saddle he is sensible and well-mannered, a gentleman and a true companion.
