chestnut mare glanced at the newborn foal - pushing and licking -
encouraging the delicate black filly to its feet. The filly - too
black to be seen in the darkness of the night - blinked, struggled
and nickered to her dam...
In the great southern land the mare and foal stood guarded by the
majestic gums, tall and sparkling silver as the moon appeared from
behind the night clouds - gossamer threads of moonlight illuminated
the filly and the mare became still as the dark form of her foal took
shape. Finishing her first drink this gamin fairy like creature began
to spin and cavort in the moonbeams. She raised a wisp like tail puffed
her nostrils and danced on tip toe around her dam.
The dingoes raised their eyes to the bright moon, while the nocturnal
bush creatures within the canopy of the great gums enjoyed the performance.
Possums peeped with wide luminous eyes while an echidna family came
scuffling in to see the show. Mysterious kangaroo's and wallaby's
stopped and stared at the dainty filly dancing out her destiny.
Light as a feather, seemingly never to touch the ground, the magical
filly paid homage to her ancestors in another great sunburned land
far, far away!
