Sahib's sire, the late Salaa El Dine (Ansata Halim Shah x Hanan by Alaa El Din) is such a household name in Egyptian circles that he certainly needs no introduction. It is safe to say that he was one of Ansata Halim Shah's leading sons. Therefore we should take a closer look at Sahib's dam, NK Soraya: This ultra-refined daughter of Ibn Nejdy (the sire of NK Hafid Jamil) is regarded as one of the most beautiful mares ever born at Dr. Nagel's Katharinenhof Stud. It was mere luck that she was in foal to Salaa El Dine when Mildred and Marcus Pabst bought her back in 2000. Soraya's dam Shahwana (El Moniet x Sabah) is a maternal half sister to the famous stallions Sameer and Sherif Pasha. The latter was the first straight Egyptian horse to win the World Championship at the Salon du Cheval in Paris. In tail female line, NK Soraya traces back to Moniet El Nefous via the branch of Mahiba (Alaa El Din x Mouna). Precious blood, evident in her refined and elegant appearance. "The goal of our breeding programme is to consolidate this extreme type with Sahib's foals now," say Mildred and Marcus Pabst. Therefore they looked with great anticipation to the first foal born out of the mating between two Soraya children: In 2007 Sahib was bred to his half sister Sahara (Ansata Najdi x NK Soraya) and the wonderful result is the excitingly beautiful filly Sarah P. PERSONALITY Success at shows is certainly nice and everyone who saw Sahib strutting his way through the showring wil remember his proud bearing, his masculine beauty, and charisma. The audience was always spellbound and loved his self-confidence and "look at me" look. He regally surveyed his competitors and no other stallion dared to challenge him. The perfect attitude for a show horse! For Sahib's owners, however, it is more important that Sahib is easy to handle at home. He uses his own brain when under saddle and is a wonderful companion when they ride him in the fields around the farm. "We always can rely on him," say Marcus and Mildred Pabst. In fact Sahib is so easy to handle that he follows a child - and he shares such a special bond with his owner that he even follows him into the sea.
